Either that or he thinks i need disaster insurance or something. Which would be a fair point too.
Cats was just a guess. Was most likely completely wrong and will just go to show how simply my mind works
I hope GBD comes back to enlighten us!0 -

Today i notice toadstool growing out from under the loo.
I am being serious: Beware of "dry" rot - given a source of water (eg a leaking loo) in the right warm conditions it will spread that dampness through it own internal network and can grow 3 feet a year.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_rotOn cat bonds, I was expecting a comment from LIR. I thought she'd be fond of them.I had a 1hr webinar on them this afternoon. Until then I hadn't much idea what they are. Sounds quite interesting. In case anyone is interested http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catastrophe_bond
I suppose as money now yields very little, it is becoming like real estate - a lot of "wealth" but no yield.
Just like owning a farm - so now is time to bet the farm by becoming "a name at Lloyds" and pledging the farm for an additional return from successful risk insurance.
At least the "cat bond" has a limited liability, you can only lose your stake (unlike the 1980s Lloyds "asbestos spiral" bankrupts).0 -
For PNs benefit, the iphone 5 is expected out towards the end of the year, the current model is the 4S.
No, no, no...
Leave it a few months for the hype to cool down, then get one
I'll get mine after Christmas when there's some hope of a small-ish discount.
I want my new MacBook desperately! New one with Retina display. I've got a Sony atm that I've borrowed from DD1.

Good luck Big Dog.
Just watched Tony Bennett on BBC breakfast. There was a recording of him doing a duet with Lady Gaga. The fun they were having recording it jumped out, worth catching if you're interested: it's their duet for The Lady is a Tramp. He described Gaga as the Picasso of music, he says he's never in his time in music met anyone else like her, with her talent or who thinks like her. Really interesting. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
