For any NPs in the midlands area, http://www.applausestore.com/applausestore-reserve-form.php?id=1775&bid=4
I get sent these invites as I'm registered with this outfit. It's a free night out and I've enjoyed watching these shows getting filmed. Brallaqueen, lj, Johnny, Doozer, Nikkster, Scarlet, anyone near to Derby, maybe give it a go?
Here's a question I don't know the answer to and maybe some NPs can. Was struck by how the cities have changed over the last 50+ years and it struck me; where are the main docks for Britain seeing as how the big cities' dock areas are now turned into offices and fancy flats? Are there just fewer ports doing more trade or do we just import/export less bulk goods than before?
Main port for the UK is Felixstowe....it is also one of the largest in Europe. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I'm not the target but have found one.
I don't do much in the way of share trading but I must be on someone's "sucker list" as I get regular calls from abroad about the latest "opportunity".
Try posting on this thread - these guys are pretty good at smelling rats:

It is all mechanical handling & automated computer controls these days. The ship just parks up (bow and stern "thrusters"?) there is a hectic shuffling of containers, perhaps 12 hours later (if tides are an issue (see Isle of White and Soton)) it drives off again.
In the old days pre containerisation, the ship and its crew could be in port for a month fiddling about trying to re-stow sacks using dockers with hooks. So many more parking spaces were required!
These days the crew (of 10?) join the navy to see the world but all they see is the sea (unless it is a cruise ship in which case they will nearly all be from the third world).0 -
And then after all that mechanical shuffling has finished....the fun starts with getting the blighters delivered to their end destination.
That was my old job.....well part of it anyway.
Edit - in further news, my maintenance has finally arrived from ex's Natwest account! We made it! I suppose the containers are then handed over to those lorries that work in the haulage industry - sorry I meant "logistics" or is it "solutions" now?
Good news about the maintenance, Sue!There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Yes, glad the maintenance has finally arrived Sue, hope it didn't impact on your weekend too much.
Zag - not sure if this will interest you/ if you're already aware of it, but BBC News tracked a container for a bit. Linky:

um....i know there are some excel geniuses on here.
I would like to write a macro. Basically, I have 3 sets of values that I need to colour code. Cells with 0.5 should be red, 0-0.4 will be blue, 0.4-0.49 will be yellow. I am using excel 2010 (or i can use excel for mac the previous version, 2008?)
Is it easy to teach me?0
