I think some people have been saying that if they have been able to show that they are expecting a regular payment (such as a salary), they have been allowed to withdraw sometimes up to £300. What people have been told varies.
Obv none of this reall matters if someone doesn't really try in the first place...0 -
I would feel to exposed to have a massage.
Really?
It doesn't bother me at all, prefer it really, though actually, i had a shiatsu based treatment today, for which you normally stay dressed..its half way to physio therapy really. I feel about three inches taller and i can stand up straight (which has been an increasing problem recently, as my core which lasted all these years through illness and weight gain, has finally stopped supporting my back..
Having a massage is glorious!0 -
Back in the 80s the Times (well rather their readers) put together a list of 10 books everyone should have read if they wanted to be well-read. I didn't agree with it.
Wonder what the NPs would have included?:)
Personally, if I was going to put together a list of 10 books which would, in my view, make someone well read, then all of them would be non-fiction. I suppose I might stick something like all quiet on the western front, or storm of steel on there, because although they are works of fiction, they are basically, at least in part, first hand accounts of a key point in history which are a more useful source for understanding what it was like than reading a factual history.0 -

i have never had one and i doubt i ever will, i really don't like the idea of it. mechanical physiotheraphy seems a different matter - more like a matter of fact business transaction.0 -

Well, i don't end mine with 'something special' or whatever they call it. :rotfl:
It is a business transaction, not that disimilar fom silvercar's beautiful manicures, and not disimilar from straight forward physio. Ime a really good massage based therapy is in some ways more beneficial to me than physio because i feel....more relaxed, more able to yield mentally as well as physically. One of the characteristics of my neurological condition is that my muscles switch on but not off very well, so are often pretty tense, and it doesn't help that i seemto have the personality type that 'braces' too. I find relaxing quite difficult, both physically and mentally, and when you are meant to let someone manouvre you i find that quite 'hard work' to yield in all senses. A less 'medical' feeling really helps me with the latter which helps who ever is 'treating me' address the former.0 -

Also, library authorities have different rules, but many don't have "you have to live or work in this county" type criteria, so you may be able to join one with a really good selection without living there. Worst case scenario, you'd only have to visit the library to sign up and join.
For example, if you were a member of Surrey, here's their webpage:

Chose them because in my mind they may be one of the closest big ones.
thank you for this - had no idea. i had looked into this sort of think for ebooks, but discovered that for some reason it is all incompatible with kindles, and so you have to buy some sort of turgid thing made by amstrad to read them on. i am out...
anyway, i have joined up, seemed relatively easy, although will need to download an app when i get home to get started!0 -

His pay is not due until Monday so not too much for him to worry about there at the moment, ...but payments due to go out from his account today have not gone despite having enough money in the account.
If the problems persist beyond the end of today, he can at least get over the weekend using his wife's pay and child maintenance!
Eldest son came to my rescue with regards some fuel for the car, he gave me a fiver from his EMA and of course, I always have the option of going cap in hand to my parents, it's not as if it is a huge amount of money but it does make the difference in my budget between coping with the weekend and not, especially as this week has been an extremely tough one financially as it is!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
