So the best thing is to go see the airport rep, or better still call them while the desk is open, and let them know the situation. They should then take the pain of getting her on another flight, with a different airline if necessary. I have before now flown Virgin when BA's plane went tech, so I know such arrangements exist, just not how they work.
I've had a quick look online and as far as I can tell there are no more direct flights from either Gatwick or Heathrow until next week (any airline), so they would have to sort out something non-direct. But yes, should be them sorting it out.
What happened was she was supposed to be being picked up, after another customer in Bromsgrove. Other customer asked for her friend to be picked up at a second address in Bromsgrove. Driver thought that this was their second pick up so headed straight to airport. As per instructions, mum called contact number at point of being 15 mins late, but they couldn't get hold of driver no. 1. Eventually had a to wake up a driver no. 2, but then the 'they're 10 mins away' turned out to be 30 mins.

Since then I've been dealing with minor law-breaking (vandalism and that kind of stuff) and calling in to the non-emergency number. I've been told at least five times that the police will be in the area, they'll pop in and see me and they never did. Then I met the local sergeant, so I told him, and they still never did. Imagine if you were a little old lady being bullied by a local gang and that happened and the sense of isolation it would cause.
As things stand now, I have very little faith that the police are capable of solving crime. They certainly aren't structured in a way that's fit for purpose. This isn't even about cuts, it started before that. I don't have any sympathy for whatever happens anymore.
Remind me of this when we meet. I have stories of private law enforcement v police and orher stuff that will make your hair curl. Maybe thats what happened to me.0 -

I'm not convinced that it is a loophole, so you may get a tax bill if it ever gets investigated.
Edit: I see that other people have said much the same.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It depends on your moral stance. You could spend the £1 on a knife and start a protection racket, then move on into drugs, prostitution and illegal gambling. Yes, I know that's not very original. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Do you 'do stats' on your membership? For example, some books are mainly read by men, others by women? Do you aim to strike a fair balance? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

You think? I don't comment negatively on those for quite another reason.0 -
