Or they might sell it to Chat magazine and michaels will become "housewives choice"

    :)

Won't be safe in Mr T ever again...

That would be fun. Would he still have time for us i wonder?

Trouble is, I now don't have a phone as the one I MIGHT have got you all rubbished. I have to get a phone and 'stuff' all at the same time.

    Phones etc are SO confusing.

But when we do advise you, you don't listen. You said you want an electric toothbrush under £40 and I found you one for £26.99 in Argos.
Fake Britain, BBC1 just did a HUGE thing on electric toothbrush heads. OralB are the ones they keep finding/showing. They're made in sweatshops, with animals and industrial waste around - and they can disintegrate in your mouth and you can swallow the pin, which can cause sharp injuries on your insides. They painted a horrible picture of what could go wrong if you bought fake ones. One way to tell if yours are fake/real is to try to remove the logo on the neck/stem. Ethanol removes the fake logo, but the real one is lasered in and can't be removed.

Which is why you should have bought in a proper store like Argos not off a dodgy website.

I'm now going to spend 5 minutes max finding you a phone with 3g, a camera and a suitable package. The NP can then improve on the deal.

    Back soon!

    http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/huawei/blaze?deal=5663

    Huawei Blaze - £10 a month, 250 minutes, 5000 texts 500mb data, camera and 3g FREE PHONE , 24 month contract.

    http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/samsung/galaxy+y?deal=5785

    Samsung Galaxy Y -£10 a month, 100 minutes, 5000 texts 500mb data, camera and 3g FREE PHONE , 24 month contract.

First one is a better deal because you get more minutes and the phone has a better camera, but the Samsung is a more well known make than the Huawei, so that is what you are paying for.

Silver, whilst you are at it being so helpful, my wife needs a phone to, umm, just make phone calls with. And she likes to text! She's with GiffGaff and "A giffgaff sim will work in an unlocked, sim free or O2 locked phone."

At the moment, she has an ancient Nokia phone. So old that all the letters have rubbed off the keypad. I don't think she wants anything fancy.

    Any suggestions, please?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I don't know about pn, but even with nice people help i am often bamboozled.

E.g. I tried to read to dh what michaels was saying about the internet access from here and dh (whose life just doesn't have time apart to pay for what i can find) was also a bit 'yer wot?' and i didn't know the answers to his questions so i still don't know what to do!

Just as when pn talks about the internet and money i just don't get it. My mind barely works, and it doesn't work in that way. A lot of times i need to ask the question more than once and think about it all a long time. All people are not created equal, sadly, and understanding and choosing equipment scares me at least as much as pn i think!

I thought we established you could only receive ADSL Max in your location.

On that basis, and with you being on Plusnet, who are one of the better ones, I'd suggest you call them and ask them why your connection is so slow and what can you do to improve it. :)

Upgrade your phone and give her your old one?

    What is your budget?

If she is with GiffGaff is she on a SIM only deal at the moment? Does she need to stay with GiffGaff?

You have 2 options - buying a phone outright and either taking a SIM only deal (with anyone or sticking to GiffGaff) /PAYG or taking a cheap contract with a new phone thrown in.

My DW has a super-dooper android phone and I get lots of calls asking how to do things (and would probably get more except that half the time she can't even make a call) so I would say for calls and texts probably best to stick with a simple non-touch screen 2g handset, much better battery life as well and these cost from £10 not on contract. Many can then be unlocked for free/minimal cost, google is your friend.

Mr T propbably has some cheap ones and you might be able to use doubled up clubcard vouchers.
