Sell it on ebay or there are companies that let you send them a premium rate text and then they send you a cut of the money they receive, you get back about 50% of the credit.

Thanks all, very much indeed! I think the Nokia C1-02 looks like what she wants. Decent quality basic phone with a nice keypad. I will look around for the best deal to buy it, but £30-ish is not going to break the bank.

Silver, if I buy a CPW phone with the compulsory £10 top up for 3 say, that leaves me with a SIM card with £10 credit on. What would I do with that? It all seems more complicated than it needs to be. It's like going to the supermarket to buy fish fingers and being told I can only buy those if I also buy two bags of frozen peas and a pomegranate.
    I think....

Sell it on Ebay. Use the £10 up by entering competitions/ voting on Eurovision.

Or even use it to making calls/ texts.

The wanderer returns on Saturday for the weekend.....none of the boys are interested in being with him. James because he is working, middle son because he has given up on him and youngest because he doesn't feel like being sociable.

    I'll get the blame.......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

But when we do advise you, you don't listen. You said you want an electric toothbrush under £40 and I found you one for £26.99 in Argos.
No, it's other people not listening to me .... I wanted a specific one under £40, the one the Dentist recommended, the F*** 5000 one. Not "any one".

    http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/huawei/blaze?deal=5663

    Huawei Blaze - £10 a month, 250 minutes, 5000 texts 500mb data, camera and 3g FREE PHONE , 24 month contract.

    http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/samsung/galaxy+y?deal=5785

    Samsung Galaxy Y -£10 a month, 100 minutes, 5000 texts 500mb data, camera and 3g FREE PHONE , 24 month contract.

First one is a better deal because you get more minutes and the phone has a better camera, but the Samsung is a more well known make than the Huawei, so that is what you are paying for.
    Great.

What do people do about their telephone number? I've only ever had the one phone, so only ever had one number ... can I keep my mobile number? It's on tmobile I think, it's through Utility Warehouse.

You phone your current mobile phone network and ask for a PAC code. you then phone your new mobile phone network and give them the PAC code. They then tell you on what day the number will transfer over. Sometime on said day your phone stops working, you switch it off and on and it turns back on with the old number now on your new phone.

I'm assuming that you are changing networks. If you are on PAYG and keeping to the same network, you just take your old SIM card out of your old phone and put it in the new phone.

The only time the above fails is if you are taking out a contract now with the same network that your existing phone number was with.

If you're all wondering how I ever managed to get my FIRST phone... I was online and said "I want a phone" and somebody I know, who has worked in phone shops, went onto ebay, then gave me a link and said "buy this one" and it was £10 and I did.

I have kept the number i have had since i left my nasty ex. You call current provider, ask for your 'pack number' then give it to new provider.
