I think the 5 of us plus 2 17 year old Spanish girls might struggle to all fit in a 1 bed!

I know, it's been up for rent for 7 months now, and just won't shift :(

Hmm - have agreed to have a couple of Spanish language students at the end of July (Hello Mar and Ana) but now had an Olympic booking inquiry for the whole house for 3 weeks for the Olympics = 5k - thoughts?

An enquiry is not a booking though, it may go away when it finds out how far you are from Stratford. So let them ask more questions and deal with the Spanish students if it turns into a booking. You've got six weeks to sort something out.

Have you tried Rightmove? I just had a look on there to see how much my old house would be on for (also 1 bed) and that was £720, so the ballpark looks broadly right.

Bad parents don't feed their kids properly, don't bring them up properly, don't wash their clothes and generally look after them... But they aren't just in the underclass.

There's probably more bad parenting per capita among the underclass, but you're right that those who are rich can be appalling.

We had one poor lad at our school whose Dad was famous for jet-setting all over the world. He was far too important to make his son sandwiches, so they'd frequently arrive by taxi just before lunch time...

Sometimes, if he was lucky, the lad would get something plain and generally pleasing for a 10 year old. At other times, if Dad had ordered from a posh deli, the stuff that arrived made the boy wish he'd just had a school dinner!

Yes, we did watch to see what every child ate at lunchtime. Many would wolf food to fit in more football!

presume you're getting paid to take the language students - you might need to check what the contract that you have with the college says in it as you might breach the contract if you accept money in return for providing accomodation at a certain address, and then stick them in alternative accomodation for 3 weeks?

also - where are you going to go? surely anywhere you book in london for those three weeks is going to be just as expensive as your house to rent? whatever the plan is, you need to draw up a P&L account for it taking into account all the extra costs you'll incur and see if it still looks worth it (you've probably already done this) - the net return may not look worth it!

got through the speech alive - 3 minutes 18 seconds, and every "joke" got at least a bit of a laugh! the bride liked it anyway (and i dealt with the "screening" request by just ignoring it, and didn't seem to cause any trouble!).

When they find the snow you put in the advert is unlikely to materialise they may change their minds.

It's been advertised just about everywhere now :(

I've handed it over to Airport Lettings to see if they can do anything now....

£310/month mortgage still needs paying, and things are getting desparate...
