Funnily enough I had a letter off DMUK asking if I wanted to join?
I am thinking of a suitable response.0 -

Assuming this is the actual case, how would CPS be aware somebody was a member of DMUK?0 -
Perhaps they had access to membership lists. No doubt they provided a convincing reason for wanting it.0

Thing is, I don't recall CPS being involved with DMUK which is why I asked whether he means UKCPS?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As we said some cases are won and some are not.dmukadminMay 31st, 2012 at 9:37 am
Corporate members do not influence us or our campaigns however, if needed we would seak advice from them and vice versa. We have taken the view that it is far more constructive to work with parking operators than against them and by doing this we are in a far better position to help our members and other disabled people.dmukadminJune 8th, 2012 at 3:57 pm
If a member has been issued a PCN then we will do what we can to help. In this circumstance it seems unreasonable for the company not to waive the ticket and is something we would look into if this gentleman had contacted us.

Disabled Motoring UK Awards
Best Parking Award
This award will be presented to the organisation which has demonstrated a commitment to providing an exceptional parking service for disabled motorists. The category is open to public and private sector car park owners and/or parking operators, and covers both the off-street and on-street sectors.
If you wish to apply for the award on your own (or your company’s) behalf, please provide information on how disabled bays are sited (e.g. number, design, signage, location) and how they are monitored. You should also tell us about how specific problems facing Blue Badge holders have been identified and solved.
We know what a difference good parking can make. Members are invited to nominate parking operators for this award. Whether you want to nominate your local shop with one or two bays, a huge multi-storey or a company responsible for whole areas of on-street bays, let us know!0 -

The article ‘Excel gives drivers court warning’ (Apr 26) points out that Simon Renshaw-Smith, Excel’s Managing Director, is a member of the British Parking Associations (BPA’s) Approved Operator Scheme board.
In doing so, readers are led to believe that this represents some sort of conflict of interest. This could not be further from the truth.
The article neglected to mention that Mr Renshaw-Smith is only one of approaching 20 representatives from different bodies in the motoring industry, including the RAC, the Institute of Advanced Motorists and the Federation of Private Residents’ Associations (FRPA), Disabled Motoring UK and others who are able to voice the concerns of their members and of motorists.
It would be impossible to have a board which makes policy decisions about the parking industry without the involvement of companies that operate at the coal face of that industry, every day.
The Approved Operator Scheme provides a framework for essential regulation in an otherwise unregulated industry.
The BPA has been campaigning tirelessly for many years for the Government to take on this role themselves but they have repeatedly refused to do so. We have however finally achieved an Independent Appeals Service for motorists parking on private land which we hope will go live in October of this year.
This should demonstrate beyond doubt that the BPA and its respective operating boards are determined to safeguard the rights of British motorists.

Anyone seen any adverts for jobs on the "Independent" appeal panel by the BPA, or will they be taken by AOS members?Originally Posted by shortcrust

In the same way that Mr Hunt was supposed to open minded, I should co co.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
If he is a board member, albeit one of twenty, you cannot possibly state 'further from the truth', at best he could only be 19/20ths from the truth.Je Suis Cecil.0

They are still removing posts from that article. I asked the very simple question about what law they thought made private parking tickets "enforceable". That has disappeared. So they make those bold statements without being able to back them up. Disgraceful! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
