Well done on your NSD and doing so well with your meal from stores!

We have MIL, FIL, SIL and BIL for a BBQ last weekend. Hubby spent £53 of BBQ items! He went far too fancy!

I hope you have a great weekend and are not working too much x

Can't believe how quickly the long weekend has gone! Back to work tomorrow, although only have Weds and Thurs then we are off for a long weekend down to Snowdonia - can't wait!

Hope everyone has had a lovely BH wend. We've done quite a bit, i've worked and we've still managed to socialise with a few friends and catch up with family. All in all not bad.

Now back to reality OH at work today (overtime which is great!) and i'm on a house clearing/cleaning mission. Still have loads of wedding presents to put away and find places for so that's my task for this afternoon/eve.

Once finished I shall work out the pennies and see how I can manage until payday

Just back from a very wet but all the same very lovely weekend down in Snowdonia. Hubby and I had good old chat about money and we're going to sit down and evaluate everything this weekend as he is off duty and I have no overtime. Perfect for starting a plan of action.

We realise we have a healthy household income and are both very lucky to have overtime opportunities arise regularly at the moment (not sure how long this will last). We think we can really push ourselves in coming months to bust our finances and get us to a sounder position.

Hubby has more disposable income than I so he likes to pay for treats etc and I focus more on my debts. It works well for us and we both know that the tables will turn and once my debt is gone it means a good extra £900 odd pounds a month for us that I was (am) paying towards debts at the moment going into our household. How nice will that be eh?

So, watch this space for further plans. It's payday on Friday so 15th June onwards is our first steps for married finances....i'm actually excited to see what we can achieve :D

You sound very focused choc :D

Good luck with the plan over the weekend.

How amazing it would be to have that extra £900 a month! That could overpay over £10k a year on the mortgage!

When we are debt free we are £300 a month better off! I can't wait.

Enjoy your planning and a free weekend :D

Thanks Lovely. I'm busy gathering paperwork, notebooks etc - I want to be armed and ready to see what we can do.

If I could shift this within 2 years minimum i'd be a very happy lady. Every month it's going down just not fast enough for me!!! :rotfl:

Snap! I think it will take us 8/9 months to get rid of the loan. Then a further 10/12 months to clear the cards - so i am thinking 2 years for us is a great minimum goal to have!

    We can do it! x

I'm getting excited as OH has agreed to a de-clutter weekend! Now some may find this sad but I literally can't wait as we are running out of space in our little 2 bed house and it's driving me nuts

We seem to have accumilated a lot of belongings since the wedding and have now had our lovely gifts delivered and have nowhere to put any of it. So, this weekend is all about de-cluttering, charity shops etc (may get myself into ebay!) and then we're going to sit down and look at finances and set ourselves budgets etc. Can't wait :j

Roughly looking I think I should be able to put aside £300 of my wages to pay off debt on top of the £920 I already pay as minimums. If I can do this and cut back by £20 per week on my spends (god knows how!) then I could potentially have the money set aside to clear my lowest debt in full!!!!! Now theres motivation to literally not spend anything for an entire month, lol. We'll see though, have to be able to leave the house at some point :rotfl:
