i am a Dual Fuel customer and just phoned up for this offer
Effective from 5th April
Gas
Intial Rate 3.412p (i was on 3.93)
Then 2.18p (i was one 3.2)
Elec
Intial Rate 13.05p (i was on 13.87)
Then 7.82p (i was on 8.22)
I have seen a reduction for Gas 13% and elec 5.9%
There are no tie in so i can switch again if the rates are not attractive in the following weeks
Sand Man, I just called up as well, and whilst I was quoted the same Gas rates as you, I was quoted the following for Electricity:
Initial Rate 14.08
Then 8.67
As I am lower on my current tariff for both, I didn't switch. My fixed rate goes till End of January 2008, this "Price Saver offer" is valid until September 2008 but I reckon I can always switch to something better in Jan 08 if need be.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Beate,
Your Gas rate is the same as Sandman's because it's a generic rate through out the UK on that particular deal. However your Elec prices differ due to living in unlike areas.
I'm assuming you fixed your prices before March 2006?
If you did the deal you currently have is v.good and probably won't be matched as you fixed wisely before the market became too volatile.
If prices in the industry decrease again then I would say time too shop around.

How can you tell what tariff your on? I dont get all the v.3 v4 stuff. I think Im just on a standard credit tariff, Ive been with them a while used to be with London energy. My most recent bill was 15.03 for first 256 units then 7.43 for rest. Im in yorkshire which I know is quite a dear region but was wondering if this is a good rate or not? When I look at EDF prices online there only seems to be 1 standard tariff but if I go on uswitch there are several tariffs to choose from but none which say standard? I cant find any of the tariffs mentioned eg online, v3 etc, are these only availible if you contact them or something? Any help appriciated
thanks
Right, just rung them and was told I am on a standard tariff and that there is nothing better that they could offer me. Did say I could save £8.00 per year if i pay DD, but no reduction or change of tariff. The lady I spoke to said they are not aware of any change of tariff and that they would only be told when it was annonced in the press (if they drop their prices that is). Do you think this is right?
Also in view of this I think I'll look at another supplier but should I look to change now or wait and see if they drop their price in April? Any ideas?

Thanks, I did fix before March 2006, unfortunately we moved in June 2006. Whilst I was able to cling to a EDF deal fixed to 2008 even though I first had to shoot British Gas out of the way in the new property, I was not able to keep my old fixed tariff but was switched to one with slightly higher prices. Nothing major, but if I could have just taken my old tariff with me, I would have been happier still, the electricity rate was 12psomething. Anyway, I like EDF's customer service on a whole! Gotta be said now and then.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Hey Alm,
You can benefit from price saver 2008 seen as your on a standard tariff. I think it has been mentioned that EDF will be launching an online V5 tariff at the beggining of April which should be good. Though you may only be able to apply through comparison websites such as USwitch.
My advice would be to hangout and see what happens. The reason for this if you change to another provider now it will take around 6-8 weeks to transfer and of course that would take us into May..
Unfortunately staff don't always know what's going on in the company they work for. I'm sure if you spoke with someone else in the same department they would have contradicting knowledge of what's happening!
