i signed up 3 years ago... with Sweb energy... so any idea what tariff this would be.
there is no mention of it with my online billing
If you signed up online and via a comparison website, you would have got a very good deal, those who signed up to EDF as London / SWEB etc a couple of years back and via the comparison site have done really well, as over time they have still been a huge sum cheaper than others.
If you log on to your online account and select to view a statement, it will say on there what tariff you are on.
Mine is listed as Online v1 Direct Debit...
For the last year, I haven't found a site that lists the correct rates I pay, so it's difficult to to a quick comparison, but still no others come close to the rate I am paying. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I jsut called up but the guy told me I can't sign up to online tariffs over the phone, I have to do it online. However they are not currently offering any online tariffs but there will be a new one advertised on their website on 1st April.
Can anyone confirm that this is correct? Ie I can't get a cheaper deal by phoning up?0 -
The online tariffs were only available through the comparison sites. They were never available directly from EDF of their own website.
I have seen EDF Online v5
Tariff is
Gas
3.436 then 2.497
Electricity
11.430 then 6.8570 -
Where do you get those prices from? When I go to uswitch, British Gas Click 2 comes up cheapest for me at 10.053p first 900kwh then 7.697p per kWh. EDF Online is advertised as 14.45p per kWh first 900kwh then 8.78p per kWh.
My consumption is 300kwh per month.0 -
I am totally confused with all these different prices.
I am an EDF Energy dual fuel customer (have been since 2003) and am currently on the Fixed 2008 v1 Standard DD rate for Electricity of 13.460p then 8.290p and on the Fixed 2008 v1 Dual Fuel DD rate of 2.9870 then 1.919p. These aren't online tariffs. Can I go any better somewhere and even though I am on a fixed tariff? Compared with the new rates Sand Man was quoting, my Gas rate is actually better than that offer, but my Electricity rate isn't.
Any advice please? After getting a mortgage exit fee back and winning £19.80 in the Euromillions the other day, decreasing fuel bills would be a great hattrick!Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Don't forget EDF's electricity prices vary greatly across the country - like every othe company.0 -

I have posted this elsewhere,
I contacted EDF to ask if they were reducing prices, this was their reply, today.
"Dear Mr ~~~
Thank you for your e mail.
As you may already be aware, British Gas, N Power and Powergen have announced intentions of reducing their gas and electricity prices.
N Power and British Gas’ prices were both very high prior to their announcements therefore
the decrease brings them in line with other suppliers.
Taking these changes into consideration EDF Energy are still very competitive, also offering a wide range of other benefits including free phone, nectar points, priority services for our most vulnerable customers, dedicated UK call centres and a free energy efficiency helpline to name but a few.
EDF Energy’s price increases in the past were kept to a minimum in our continuing effort to offer the best value and service possible.
I trust you will continue to enjoy our services as a valued customer and we will endeavour to remain competitive and to prove EDF Energy is the choice for you.
We are still cheaper than our competitors in many areas and we have award winning Customer Service.
EDF Energy pricing is constantly under review, however, as of today no announcements have been made to reduce energy costs to either new or existing customers.
If you have any questions or would just like to talk about our services please call us on 0800 096 9000.
Once again, thank you for contacting us.

As I have stated at the start of this thread EDF Energy can offer a reduced rate againts core prices, however this is NOT an offical price decrease.
I believe this is being offered to 350,000 new & existing customers, based on a first come first serve basis.
Are you a customer of EDF? If you are, did you take advantage of the reduced fixed rate?

Note that these are Ex. VAT.
Do you know how many units you have to use on the expensive rates before you move onto cheap rates?
