    Afternoon all

Been street partying all day in the rain and I'm exhausted now and all of a sudden my face is roasting hot and I have an earache.

    In laws here tomorrow.

While you all go flying mad I'm going to have a week of relaxing/little flying I think before 2 heavy weeks after half term. I'll be here keeping an eye on you all though!

Need to empty WM and car now

  • Hi Helen Jelly, Welcome,I know you from gc and I too was on the messies for a while (what a lovely kind bunch they are). Sorry to hear about your dad and hope your dog gets better. As regards next week, im not sure as i have not been on here for a week - i know hex2 was suggesting a room a day challenge, but i thought that was to be running alongside - either way, im up for it. Im sure you know the routine of looking at the front page, if youve been here b4, or someone will come along and help.

absolutely running alongside the normal stuff, just a mini challenge for anyone who wants to join in so I don't feel quite so lonely doing it. I want to award myself stars for doing it as well to be truely nostalgic - I think the last time this place was truely clean and tidy was when we had the stars.

Dusty - hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Save Dosh and everyone else for the welcome, its nice to be getting back into some kind of routine now - I do love a routine.

I've just done a massive pile of washing up, the DW broke last year and we didn't replace it and do my hands know it lol.

Made marshmallow cookies today - the marshmallows melt and make them a bit gooey but DS likes them, also made a lovely Victoria Sandwich Cake - gave a quarter to Mum, had a couple of slices and the rest is in the fridge.

DS is not allowed chocolate as he gets Abdominal Migraines and we're trialing no chocolate to see if that helps [not noticed much difference after 2 weeks].

Off to do the never ending ironing now

Sounds good to me, i don't have many days available next week as any spare time is allocated to my allotment, but would love to join on 2 days and would like to do a big walk in cupboard and an under the stairs (not rooms, but so much rubbish in them).
SUPERSCRIMPERS IS ON TONIGHT - jubilee special for anyone interested on channel 4 at 8pm - sorry couldn't resist - i love that programme.

    Hi all

Had our little party with some kiddies from up the road. They came here. Their mum said the house is a state, oh dear...

They all had a whale of a time, and despite being messies, they helped tidy all the toys and craft table away. Used paper plates so not much else to clear up. Have left the flags up as we are home just us tomorrow and DS said can we have our own little party, bless him. He does like a party.

DW on, wm on (just finished I think, it sings to me lol), so will hang those on airers I think.

Tots were watching the gruffalo before bed, so I did my first challenge, the vanity unit. Pulled everything out, binned all that won't ever be used, wiped shelves and put stuff back in, more orderly. Still almost full, but organised and is stuff that will be used, plus I now know what I have in there...

    I'll give myself a 4/5 for that.

Also emptied bathroom bins. Which reminds me, need to check when the bin rounds are this week. Which also reminds me, need to do a hh paperwork, preferably tomorrow. Have been putting off some stuff that needs sorting...

See you all on the new one...

I love superscrimpers but I'm waiting for the apprentice final which seems to be delayed. I will watch superscrimpers on 4oD tomorrow. Anyone else waiting for the apprentice and what is your prediction? I will stick my neck out and say, in reverse order: Tom, Nick, Jade, Ricky. I might do a re-assessment after the interviews.

Done dinner, tidied a bit, bought lucozade for poorly DD. Sure I've done other useful stuff but can't recall - that'll be the very large glass of red I glugged before dinner :o

ah superscrimpers - feel almost virtuous!
freeze left over wine to boost stews etc - CHECK
freeze wedges of lime for G&Ts - almost SO CHECK- I open freeze lemon slices for the same purpose and buy whoopsied fruit for that - AND I wash it, in hot water first (I used to test the chemical they coat citrus fruits with to prevent mould growth) and they didn't mention that on the prog!
Make sloe gin - CHECK (and, IMO waste of money using caster sugar - granulated will dissolve given the time you have to leave the sloes in the gin!)
