Bit sad to find out that martin sold mse 2 days ago to moneysupermarket, not sure why i should feel like that, but its an amazing website and just hope it does not change things, as i am on quite a few forums. As for flying i have been mega AWOL and need to have a big fly, which i am going to do now, starting with changing the beds. Have a good bank holiday weekend everyone.0

Hello everyone. Not a lot of flying going on here as have been just doing jubilee prep since Friday evening. Hot spots everywhere in the house now, but will all be gone after the party tomorrow. Hope you are all enjoying a good long weekend.Spend less now, work less later.0

* emptied, reloaded & set off DW - are dirty plates & mugs invisible to teenagers
* emptied WM & hung towels on doors
* folded dry towels & put them straight away

sorry JJ!
I haven't done any real tidying/de-cluttering since I changed job last Feb. Emergency cleans before house sitters and christmas, and trying to keep on top of the dailies. This is the first week off I at home without visitors I have had since then. I want to use it productively and with a vague eye on the future. We may need to re-mortage or re-locate and I could not possibly let an EA upstairs atm!'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
DD is having her birthday somewhere. Hope she's enjoying it, as her phone is switched off.
Meh.
Endured a phone conversation with my mother, who is one of those hoarders. Might have persuaded her to start with one little job that will. E noticed-the hallway, all coats out of sight and the crap she arranges on the stairs out of sight. I said if she does that, I'll scrub the hallway down, and hopefully she'll like it enough that I can target the bathroom and then work my way through the house gradually.
On top of my own decorating. Because I don't exactly have a great deal to do now.
Hoping to go to a heavy horse Open day tomorrow. That should cheer me up if it isn't rained off.
Cleaned out the fishes, the floor of dd's bedroom and decided to make it my music room. Just going to have breakfast - been up since 7 but didn't fancy anything - and then I've got to start filling the cracks.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
have had a session in the kitchen. I now have a small stash of HM jam and a lemon cake (think lemon drizzle).
Gammon roasting in oven now.

Hotspots seems to be the best way to go here as well. Sadly most of mine are whole rooms
Same here!
(((Hugs))), JJ. Not sure what to say.
Not overdoing yesterday has paid off, as I managed to do some stuff and still feel better today. I may have taken it a bit too easy so far, but I've decluttered a lot of thoughts, wrote them in an e-mail (saved as draft) and it's helping me focus.
So far I have:
emptied DW
cleared almost all of the floor in the LR and decluttered the mantelpiece
brought all clean washing upstairs (apart from things to be ironed)
bought bananas and a cucumber (and had a sneaky coffee my fav little cafe, along with a nice chat)
DH is asleep on the sofa, so I'll have to wait before I carry on decluttering in the LR. The cunning plan is for me to finish in there today and then give him a list with all the cleaning jobs tomorrow, so I can move on to a different room.
Today: LR
Monday: kitchen
Tue: bathroom
Wed: DS2's room/DR
Thu: DS2's room/DR
next weekend: our bedroom
DS2's room and DR can't be done in a day, I think, but I'm hoping for significant improvements. I may have to swap days round, depending on weather and other plans.0 -
Hi everyone
Is it ok for me to come back?
I had to have a break after Dad died last year, house completely ignored for quite sometime, I then joined the Messies cos I couldn't cope with any kind of routine but now we're all back to normal [apart from the dog - he's now poorly] and I want to get back into the swing of housework. I've kept on top of stuff recently but now need some order.
Am I right in thinking that this week its "pick a room" week and we concentrate on that?
Monday - out for the day
Tuesday - childrens rooms
Wednesday - Bathroom
Thursday - our bedroom
Friday - as for Thursday - thats how bad it is!!
Saturday and Sunday - Hall stairs and landing
I'm not including the LR or Kitchen as they are ongoing and need decorating so a big clean up will be done when they get painted
Ohhh its nice to be doing this
