Thank you - your guess looks a good one.

So even dafter advice from Buzby - pay extra and wait till a billing date so there's no chance you can't get your overpaid money back as there will be none to get back!

I don't understand what's meant in the posts above. I will be leaving Virgin at the end of my 18 months with them. The date they have given me is July 14th. So I'm assuming that I have 2 more payments to make (current month already billed and coming out of account on June 2nd), one billed on 18th June and the next on 18th July. This is based on phoning Virgin on or before July 14th and asking for my PAC code.
In the posts above are you all saying that if I don't use my Virgin SIM from July 14th onwards then Virgin will refund me the last month's payment? Or have I got it right in my assumptions?

You billing date is normally not the same as the last date of your minimum term and you pay for the next billing month in advance.
Say, the billing date is June 15th, the last day day is June 30th and you request PAC 30 days before. As the contract goes on if you don't use the PAC, they are likely to charge you for the next billing month on the 15th June. If you port the number out on the 30th June and don't go over your pro-rata allowance, your account will be in credit on the 30th when the contract is terminated.

If you want to stop paying Virgin as soon as you can, then request your PAC around June 15th, and use it so that your move will be completed by July 14th.

Your minimum period ends on July 14th. So you will have to pay till then irrespective of which date your port elsewhere is completed. If you complete your port after July 14th you will have to pay up to the date of completion.

You carry on paying till the service is cancelled (so just not using the SIM after July 14 doesn't stop you being charged if the service has not ceased)

Thanks, that's clearer. Unfortunately, I've realised that it is August 14th which is tend of mt minimum period not July 14th. But I can still follow your advice, just a month later.
