Was back at work today after having last week off as annual leave. I was worried when I saw the list for today   . I couldn't see how I could fit in all those chores as well as a full days work so I decided I would do as many as I could in an hour ans was surprised how much I managed to achieve :j
I know it will also take me less time as I do this more regularly. Today was hard work as I am new to this and a lot these chores hadn't been done in a while so things were really grimey. Looking good now tho' :D

So, here is what I did manage. Came home from work at 5pm, got changed, made dinner, washed up and then started on the fly lady list:-

    Hoovered all downstairs
Wiped down all worktops, cupboard doors, drawer fronts
    Cleaned inside of fridge
    Washed cuterly holder
    Cleaned light switches and plugs
Wiped down all appliances, washer, freezer etc (boy were they dirty  )
    Washed kitchen floor

    Got finished at 7pm :j

So, although it doesn't look a very long list, I know there is little point in me going flat out as I'll just burn out, get bored and give up so I'm adapting it to fit 'me' and what works for me.

I also acheived the two other daily week goals I set for myself :-

    a) to get up no later than 6.50 am - Done :D
    b) to not drink wine in the week - Done :D

Off to read how everyone else has done now

Thanks for this Lil Me - it has really helped me get more organised and I feel so much better about people dropping in to see me, knowing my house is reasonably clean

    4. Sort out fridge make sure anything that needs using soon is at front
    5. Clean washer drawer out
    6. Clean kitchen window, light switches and light fitting
    7. Clean oven if required, I know not everyone uses the oven a lot so leave that up to you
    8. Wipe down all appliances, washer, freezer, slow cooker etc make sure all dust/grime free
    9. Clean floor.
    10. Wipe down skirting boards

Don't forget the daily/night time routines of course!

If you fancy an extra job, sort one kitchen cupboards/other storage area, what's lurking? Sort any out of date items if it's a food cupboard, make sure short dated items at the front.

    Pack baby bag
Dress fitting with sister at 9:30am didn't bother - too depressed
Pick up baby food pot and spoon from sisters house
    Make wedding invites
    [strike]Wash load of baby clothes[/strike]
    [strike]Check airers/take off dry clothes[/strike]
[STRIKE]Do some ironing[/STRIKE] did a huge pile - only 2 items left which need a cool iron and i couldn't be fussed to wait
    [strike] Deal with post
    Sort baby bottles[/strike]

    [STRIKE] Unpack from weekend away
    Put travel bags away[/STRIKE]

Make a meal plan for the week
Start making a shopping list for the weekend

well that now looks slightly better. It's amazing what i can do when i'm alone and bored!

    Also had a bath.

I might actually manage to get on the exercise bike in that room if i can keep the pile clear and actually put the ironing board down. We also want to take down the bunk bed in there and replace it with a single at the weekend, so that is good motivation.

Rach thanks for the offer about the WW. I'm not breast feeding anymore. Perhaps if i was i would have entirely different problems with wet leaky patches but i would probably be slimmer. That's my problem - i still eat like i am, and i love things like your curry banquet.

pigpen have you managed to get sorted yet? Good luck with the appointment tomorrow

debbycatz - we've all found it gets quicker week by week, for instance now your appliances are clean, a quick wipe on kitchen day each week will keep them so. i also find that when its clean and tidy i am more likely to keep it that way, i.e i tend to put stuff away rather than let it hang around etc

michelle - keep smiling, you're doing fab :)

Thanks for the encouragement Rach  . I know it will get easier and I really want to stick to this for that reason. I can see that the jobs won't take as long once the grimey bit has been tackled.
Tomorrow looks a lot more 'do-able' for me so looking forward to that - omg, did I just say I'm looking forward to CHORES  Perhaps that's not quite what I meant :rotfl:

Btw- can anyone tell me what the 27 Fling boogie is ? I think i have gathered that it's a quick gather up of 27 things to fling or put back in the right place but I'm not too sure

    Thanks

I know what you mean about coming on the PC for more time than you intend - it's easily done. I try to use the PC.....well, to be more accurate MSE as a 'treat' when I've managed to accomplish a set amount of jobs. It works quite well so far but I do cheat sometimes :D

a 27 fling boogie is when you grab a bag (or two) and go round the house and grab 27 items to either give away or throw away.

the boogie bit is that it origianlly comes from the american flylady site and they say stick some music on and dance around as you do it
