Woolworths nightmare

I ordered as many others did the RETRO 4DR MIRROR Wardrobe.
Date of order: 22.03.2012
Dispatch email received and Payment taken on 18.04.2012
Item never received. Order has been cancelled on 21.05.2012. Reason they say item has been damaged.
They say we will reissue the order for the price of today and not at the original price (£369 now and they agreed to knock off £100). They don't honour it because there was a genuine pricing mistake according to them.

I am sure they are in breach of the contract and I have a case against them. I told them repeatedly to treat my case as a complaint but they just ignore it and give me nonsense answers. Even i filled in a complaint form online but received standard useless answer. The manager gave me an email address to complain, a general one, I received a reply that they are happy to inform me they refunded the money to my card!!! I checked my card, the money is there but they didn't refund the delivery charge which was taken separately.

Please advice what should I do and where to go for justice? I don't care that much if I get the item or no but all about principals and justice and one's right.

They gave me all this different and wrong information. Tracking the order online still says parcel dispatched and gives completely different information and even says in two occasion unable to deliver card left which is completely wrong. They say item never left the depo or the warehouse.

Having worked for SDG maybe I can input.

Okay, DOR or 21's as we call them are tricky.

As I am guessing you are trading on a cash only basis, They will have sent a refund back to your original payment method when it hit Middleton NPC,

Looking at the tracking, HDNL/Yodel damaged the product and returned it to SDG, But that looks like its been in planning alot. So I am guessing its got bashed around Blackpole.

As for not honouring a sale price. Generally they will unless a care message states in Chordiant Connect there is a miss price and correct price is. Thats Preston/Aintree who deal with that not my site :D

What was the original price? as the contract is null and voided by a refund being sent it would be a good experience for them to honour the price. But you will find most managers wont (even worse if you get a homeworker - they will pass you onto enquiries)

I'd ask for it to escalated to Customer Excellence, as if they aren't budging to this sale price (unless it was seriously miss priced) then Customer Excellence will see about honouring it if it is visable.

Oh a serious miss price. You won;t get it for that, There bulletins telling us not to honour any such price. You could try customer excellence.

So you are saying that if a company wants to get out of a contract
even though the item has been dispatched all they have to do is refund? Do not think that is correct.

Well its been returned to Middleton NPC. So goods have been returned, money has been returned. No contract exists now.

Thanks for the input. In their Terms and Conditions on the website it states “Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you”.

I was given a tracking number for the parcel but when I tried tracking it online at youdel an error message comes up everytime saying no such parcel. I called youdel and they advised me to contact shop direct as they have no info.

The customer excellence can be reached by phone or I should ask them to escalate the case to them?

Not as far as the OP is concerned.

My understanding is that once an item is dispatched it is the sellers responsibility to get that item to the customer.Something that according to the OP they have not done.

Something seems very fishy here to me.

Ask for Customer Excellence by phone, If they say write in, Ask to speak to Anthony Baldwin in the Directors office. He is head of customer excellence, You won't get him personally but you will get Customer Excellence. (Call Monday and they will be closed till then)

But the OP has been refunded. such voiding any contracts

You say its fishy, this is pretty standard for Blackpole ;)

So they basically missed the 3 off the selling price of £369. someone made a mistake and your one of many that jumped on it on hotdeals like vultures. Just give up if they've already sent loads out someones probably already out of a job because of it. Simple mistakes now turn into huge outcrys of "it's not fair someone else got there delivered" or "i ordered 20 why haven't they been delivered" because some websites turn obvious errors into "deals" that are obviously typing errors.
