good morning to everyone, hugs to all those in need. I have the sun shining as well - there is a real feel of spring in the air:j
I have a load of washing outside on the line - hopefully if it stays nice I will be able to get it mostly dry and just finish it off on the radiators tonight. I am making a batch of soup for the freezer today, and a cottage pie fortea tonight. Other than that it should be a quiet day. Have a lovely sunday everyone

I am off on my travels again on the 18th April, but this time I am with an old friend of mine from years ago. Her husband has to go to work in Australia for a month in April so we are going to do a 'Thelma and Louise ' o.a.p. style .

N9eav - Hope your daughter gets better and home today
Penny-Pincher - Glad you had a lovely time with your family but I know what you mean about wasting so much
Well yesterday I managed to gloss paint the skirting and door in the bathroom ready for new vinyl on Thursday do a load of washing, make pan of vegetable and pearl barley soup (veg was reduced to 21p at Mr T), go to ballet - my friend treated me to Swan Lake - early birthday present and then go to a 40th birthday party in the evening. Phew
Off to church this morning then need to work on report for job interview. Load of washing on but the rain is on - cest la vie.
Hugs to all who need them, have a great Sunday. :j0 -
Morning all,
JackieO - sounds like you had a fantastic time, and good for you - go and enjoy yourselves (you dont want to pack a few more os'ers in your suitcase do you??)
N9eav - so glad you dd is getting better - hope they let her out v. soon.
(((hugs))) Crazychick - just read yesterdays post from you - can't believe how thoughtless these insurers are - they just send automatic reminders - its just happened to my poor friend who recently lost her hubby - they send her the motorcycle ins. reminder 3 weeks after his crash! She was in bits.
(((hugs))) to anyone else who needs/wants one.
Bargain Rzl - looks like I should take a leaf out of your book and switch off the comp. for at least a week! to get any kind of work done - in this house and for my paperwork - but I'd miss you lot too much!!
Happy belated birthday hugs to Racy red, garden millie and Elonas dd (and anyone else celebrating)
take care all bbxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Morning all
N9eav - thinking of you - i hope she gets home today
spoke to my dsis yesterday about the holiday - I am so excited. Basically her company takes over a resort and picks about 200 salespeople who have met their targets and treats them. She's not in sales but she is very good at her job and has won this trip before. Normally she takes her exdh as they work together but this year she wants to take me :j The cayman islands - I can't beleive it - my most glamorous holiday till now was a weeks camping in Tenby (very nice it was too). She says that she will pay for my flight to toronto as a belated fortieth - the poor lamb is obviously confused as i will be 39againagain in AprilI asked what i should take and she said swimsuits - yoiks    - am hunting the net for something to cover up the stretch mark that starts from my neck and ends about halfway down my thighs - how i long for victorian swimsuits to come back into fashion - am thinking tankinis and sarongs
am meeting middle dd and dgs in town for a spoonies breakfast - weekly treat - and a forage among the yellow stickers as i really need to double moneysaving efforts now - the freezer is full so we will have a freezer challenge this week
have a good day allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning All
And yet again I'm at work. At least it's only a short shift on Sundays. Went out Friday night and got in VERY late. I was not awake at all yesterday. Thankfully no hangover as I was the driver for the evening, so soft drinks all evening. Had a great time though.
Might be going out later, waiting to hear back from someone.
Is anyone else feeling very pesimistic ahead of England's six nations clash with France later???
Last night I made lamb meat balls, served up with a thick tomato sauce and pasta. It was so yummy!!
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Goodmorning everyone,
N9eav - hope your daughter recovers quickly
I haven't read yesterday's thread yet as our computer went belly up yesterday and DH worked on it most of the day. Looks like he's sorted it out now so fingers crossed. Happy Belated Birthday yesterday to whoever celebrated. Hope you had a lovely day.
Didn't get home until 1am from a dinner party last night. Had a lovely time. Going out this morning and hopefully this arv have a wee restPpp back later. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Good morning everyone,
N9eav - hope your DD is feeling better soon, and will be home today xx
Well, have a little bit of cleaning to do this morning (dusting upstairs) and then im going to veg out for a couple of hours. I havnt decided what to do for lunch today (will roast tomorrow) but ive just had a late breakfast of crumpets, so dont think i will be wanting anything soon.
Later, DD is going to our friends house, and DS and i are (hope your not jealous N9eav) going to watch Plymouth play Watford in the FA Cup quater final - come on the green army!!!! We dont have our normal seats (i booked too late) but DS is so excited - its quite funny really, we havnt been to the footie for ages, and now we are spending 3 weekends in a row seeing them (ageandjo - next week its Crystal Palace!!!!). Tonights match should be exciting tho, i cant stand watching the football on the tv, but watching DS play, or being at a proper match is much different, and i really have learnt to enjoy it!.
Right, better get moving, the sooner i get everything done, the sooner i can sit down.
Have a lovely day
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning all
N9eav hope your DD is feeling better.
PP glad you had a good time hope you and DH are feeling better later on
JackieO do you fancy having a word about with my dad about how to spoil grandchildren.
I've had my lie in this morning unfortunately DH decided 10am was late enough and sent DD in to get me up. I could kill him as aswell as that we had to move the freezer in the garage yesterday and hes left it unpluged. I'll have to go through it in a minute and see what I can salvage. Looks like my nice relaxing day will be spent cooking defrosted food.
Hope everybody else has a relaxing daySorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Good morning everyone.
It's really miserable here just now although it looks as though the rain may have eased off a bit.
n9eav – hope your daughter gets home soon but it's good she's much better.
The bm is on and I made fresh yoghurt last night. Roast chicken for dinner today with the usual trimmings.
I've become addicted to entering all the competitions posted on the competitions thread and have at last discovered how to use pigsback fully. So I've now got £15 in rewards.
I'm going to clean down the paintwork in the living room. I've got some days off over Easter so I'm hoping to redecorate it so cleaning down the paintwork will be a start.
I've also got a 3000 word essay to finish and which needs handing in on Friday. I'm not really enjoying my degree work just now. It just seems to take up so much of my time - if I'm honest I'm not actually committing as much time to it as I should and if I was then I wouldn't get anything else done. I also find 2 evening classes a week, after a full days work pretty tiring. I hope its worth it in the end though.
Right, off to get a bucket of water and stardrops. Have a good day everyone. (((hugs))) to those who need them.
