OS thread SUNDAY 11th March 07

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11/3.07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all Spent the whole day in Hospital again with my daughter, They still would not let her out, so we have to go down again today. 3 day weekend gone and loads of money in fuel as the hospital is 20 miles away. Of course it's not just about money, and we are glad she is now better.
Church this morning, then hospital and hopefully home for roast chicken. Then this evening it's the big one....

    Morning gang.

Not posted on here for a couple of weeks, though I have been browsing through.
Daughter is in Llandudno this weekend, in some sort of hockey tournament, so it's been very peaceful here.
Treated Mr Twit to some steak for tea tonight, so that will be quick and easy to do later.
I'm off golfing this afternoon, let's hope the weather is kind.
Well, I'd better go and load that DW and tackle some of the ironing mountain, before it avalanches and buries us all.

Hugs to all those who need one, (and to those who don't think they do)

    Catch up later.

  • Morning Guys!

Decided to come back early as I wasnt feeling too well again and think OH has a virus again:rolleyes:

We had a lovely time and folks were chuffed with their pressies:D Mum commented on the Hermes lotion and how expensive it is.... but little did she know that I used some vouchers that she had given me last year;) They had some lovely pressies and we didnt spend hardly anything. BIL did a lovely Roast Beef dinner and they were going to bin the leftovers:eek:    so asked if I could have then to take home:o ....they only eat super posh food...why not:confused: ...they waste so much I could cry. Asked for a drink of water and was given one of those blue bottled waters and I know in restaurants its about £5 a bottle:eek:    ....I cant believe I used to live like that...its shameful.

Anyway, WM has been on and need to do another load in a minute, DW has been emptied and toilet cleaned. Hoping that 2nd load can go on the washing line.

Sister gave us a BN Flymo yesterday as it was too small for their gardens. I offered money as we need one anyway but she said they were just going to take it to the tip:confused: aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I could have slapped her!

The kids put on a show of High School Musical which was pretty good. The kids were all well behaved and got loads of cuddles from both nephew and niece...I love them sooooo much.

We're having a lazy day today. OH is still in bed, so i think he is generally ill. Fancy bacon and eggs, so will do some in a while and have asked DD if she would go and get the papers for me...but she said NO...cheeky cow! No breakfast for her:D I love getting the papers on the weekend and think once debt is all paid which is 6 payments away:j :j :j :j I will treat ourselves to them and have them delivered.

Uniform washed and house generally clean and tidy. Was supped to be going round friends for dinner but he has had to work this weekend, so have re-scheduled for 2 weeks time. Have got 3 pork chops out the freezer so will cook in a celery soup and serve with mash, carrot and swede...yummy!

DD has an audition next Saturday to get into a drama/singing/dance class...so fingers x'd guys!

I have gone on for too long. So have a great day guys. Loads of hugs.

    Racy-Sorry for a belated birthday

    Morning :hello:

HOOOOORAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! :j :j I'm online! My decision to go to PC World yesterday afternoon to exchange my faulty router clearly paid off :D I thought it hadn't for a while, as I spent an hour trying to get it to connect but I think my ISP's server was down

Anyway, yesterday was spent running round like a flippin' mad thing. Searched for (and found) router receipt; loaded up Wally Trolley with bottles/cans for recycling, stuff I needed to give back to ex-housemate, and my lappy; went to postal depot to pick up a large Special Delivery letter; dropped off recycling; got train to old house; dumped the stuff I needed to give back to ex-housemate, logged on here/checked my email, reloaded Wally Trolley with the 6 bottles of wine and several bottles of cooking stuff (oils/vinegars) which I somehow neglected to pack when I moved; called in to say hi to one of the neighbours; would have called in to see PP too if she hadn't been away; returned by train & picked up some grocery odds & ends and the newspaper; relaxed with the Times for about an hour; decided to trek over to PC World to swap my router; got home, spent next hour setting it up but still unable to connect ; went out to a concert; ran into friend so went to the pub for a swift one; got home, realised I had forgotten to eat all day  :o so had a bowl of porridge before bed!

Just goes to prove how much I can get done when I don't have an internet connection :o:o:o:D

After all that I need to spend as much as possible of today RELAXING :naughty::naughty::naughty: as that is clearly what weekends are for! Am going to church shortly and when I get home I need (at some point) to do three batches of cooking, hopefully all at once to get it out of the way. Maybe if I do that this afternoon, I'll have the evening free to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Hugs to you and your DD N9eav, I hope she is back home with you soon.

    Love Rzl xx

    Good morning Chums ,
hope you DD is feeling better N9eav, and your hangover gets better Amie 399,lots of glasses of water usually re-hydrates you plus a nice brisk walk in the fresh air helps to blow the cob-webs away.
Well it's a gorgeous day here in North Kent. The sun is shining, and the sky is looking decidely brighter than it has for a long time .I am going with DD to look at a table this morning, her brood have demolished her existing one by playing a little too roughly on it .Mind you it was past it's best when they got it. It was one of those tables with pedastle legs and not very strong .she has four boys and one lass clattering about on it .Their Ludo games get quite rambustious at times .!!
Then hopefully I shall finish my pile of ironing off that I have been putting on hold for a couple of days .

My grandson and I had a great time last week-end in DisneylandParis ,but it was very exhausting with an awful lot of queuing. There were queues for everything from the rides to the loos, to even the breakfasts in the morning. But the hotel was clean and comfortable and it had a nice clean pool which ben adored.
We both enjoyed the Disney studios which were very interesting, and how cartoons were made was quite enlightening. A lot of work goes into them. We went to a wild west show which was good on Saturday night and he loved it .On the Sunday we went to watch a show with Stuntmen and cars in it ,just the thing for an 11 year-old boy as he was a bit beyond Peter Pan and Mickey Mouse .He was very interested in the technical side of the productions. So a good, if tiring week-end was had by us both. It's nice to be home though and back to normal for a little while .

I am off on my travels again on the 18th April, but this time I am with an old friend of mine from years ago. Her husband has to go to work in Australia for a month in April so we are going to do a 'Thelma and Louise ' o.a.p. style .We are off to the New World to visit New York, Washington and touring Pennsyvania for a couple of weeks .We are hoping to get to Lancaster to see the Amish people which should be interesting to say the least .We both share a love of History and want to visit some civil war sites as well.
It was a choice between going on holiday or getting my flat roof re-newed on my bathroom,at my age the flat roof can wait .
Where it leaks a little, is over the bath anyway so it's not too much of a problem .
I only have a few more weeks of my uni course to complete then I have done two years ,yippee no more homework until Sepetmber . I still am doing my Maths course and a small history course but thats only on a Friday, and that is not too stressful.
I went swimming yesterday at my local health club, and it was so relaxing ,now I shall have a wee bit more time I shall make a point of going more often .I am paying for it anyway, so I had better make more use of it. It's very nice there, as it's right on the River Medway, and I took my DGD Katie along with me as it was her 14th birthday, and she deserves an extra treat .She had her cast removed from her ankle last week so she is a lot more mobile now .
I can't believe it but she was actually being bullied at school whilst on crutches ,there are some nasty pieces of work about aren't there. Luckily she told her Mum and my DD went to see the school about it .Hopefully it will all die down now . What is it with these youngsters that they want to make another's life a misery . Katie is such a bright bubbly little lass as a rule . It really pulled her down for awhile.
Anyway I spolit her a bit extra, as any extra TLC is never wasted on a child . She really enjoyed herself as she had never been to my health club before and we had a nice lunch afterwards .
Well time I got a wriggle on, <<<hugs>>> to all in need and a big smile to the rest
Take care everyone and have a good Sunday whatever you do.
