I use media monkey instead. Much better to sort your music out with. Althogh it doesnt update your ipod (although as ive never had a problem ive never felt the need to)

I have an iPhone and an iPad so I have to use it. Is it this slow on a Mac?

What's even slower than iTunes is trying to run the 5.0.whatever on my iPhone 3GS! I wish I'd never bothered updating it!

I don't like itunes, but as an owner of apple items, I have to use it. But you just don't let it abuse your music, don't use it as a music player, just sync, and update (if wifi updating doesn't really gel with you) and then close and forget till the next update notification.

Yep agreed. Infact I hated it so much when I got my ipod nano, I've not bought an iPod/Pad/Phone since just because its so awful. Shocking really - there is no need for it to be so bad as nothing else is as badly behaving. I also disliked the way that it installed a load of other crap like the useless "Bonjour" and trying to bundle quicktime and safari with it. Apple really are evil sometimes!!

you need a pretty powerful computer with a super fast SSD drive to get it to work properly. I still get lost in their menus sometimes. It;s designed to sell you stuff. I hate that you have to got into itunes to browse free podcasts.
