    CAUTION -

Just so people are aware, Tesco DO NOT have to honour the DTD policy. It is a gesture that they do and it is entirely at the Store Manager's discretion. If they believe you are targeting the DTD (i.e. buying £200 worth) then they may refuse it.

You were lucky to get CS on phone to refund on third attempt. I went all the way to Philip C and was refused once so just be warned.

    Good luck.

Then you should have complained to Trading Standards as there is no exemption clause in CS - no mention that if you have done it 'x,y,z' times before you will be exempt.

The display constitues a legal agreement, exemptions have to be stated - and there aren't any.

The double the diff was brought in because of Tesco's attitude regarding wrongly pricing goods - basically they couldnt have give a stuff until Trading Standards started to come down on them hard, along with quite a lot of bad publicity. That is why they introduced their policy in the first place, so the customer would tell them first and not complain to TS.

Thanks op, picked up 6 packs of peppered steaks this morning, for free.
No stickers on anything else, i guess they missed these.

Had to ask for dtd as was intially given jtd.
She gave it to me in cash as she said she'd have to call a manager otherwise for authorisation?

Hubby happy, now just need to find some chicken.

They still had a few packs in my local (C*nn*ck) and whilst I got the difference I didn't get DTD as the customer services woman said that the shelf was correctly labelled therefore she was doing me a good will gesture of honouring the deal! Should I have got DTD? x

Absolutely gutted, they had 5 varieties of BBQ meat all with stickers on, all working correctly :( I had a screaming toddler with me and didn't see the SA put them through so it wasn't until I'd paid that I realised. Never mind, my just deserts for all the free DTD of 2011!
