Wedding theme...my head is about to implode

I've been to a terrific amount of weddings that have either been "vintage/shabby chic/diy" or blue, lots and lots and lots of blue lol!0

Haha we want purple! It's both mine and OH's favourite colour so it was a no brainer really. He even had purple hair when we first got togetherPlus we're having heather plants as the centrepieces to tie in with the heather outside the venue.

I don't have a theme either - I let my sister pick a bridesmaid dress that she liked, the only stipulation was that it had to be either greenish or blue-ish (because they're my favourite colours). She went for an aqua colour (good girl lol) and I'll probably use a matching ribbon to go round the cake. I have bought favour bags in a similar colour but they don't quite match, don't really care though lol.
But otherwise, I went for the cheapest invites I could find on ebay (the evening and day ones don't match either - I liked both styles and couldn't decide - the day ones are white and silver and the evening ones are lilac lol) my table decorations are bonsai trees (because my dad grows them and they are free, and our venue is in the woods) and I'm just using whatever table clothes and napkins the venue supply.
Wanchai and any other July brides would probably agree that if I had a theme, it could be 'cheapskate'!
Daisiegg, I would just stick with whatever you want - as much as it's nice to try and match things where possible, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, just go with what you like!
XXThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
If there's a colour theme to our wedding it's pale pink, blush pink, just pink really
not very fashionable at the moment but its a v flattering colour (everyone looks good in pink!) and easy to get accessories & flowers etc to match

I agree with the whole wedding mags thing. Ive stopped buying them now as they are very samey, and then I end up worrying myself stupid that I havent got a designer dress, booked a stately home venue or bothered with chair covers.
I could only describe our theme as 'homemade' and lots of features will be made by myself or family- i cant wait!
Im getting this kind of attitude now of; 'if they dont like it they dont have to be there'. Getting invited to a wedding is an honour, so the guests should be happy with their lot.
My only main concern is ensuring everyone has plenty to eat and are comfortable- thats more important than birdcages and matching flowers.0 -
OH to be is a bit more (ahem) quick witted than me, so at our first venue visit, when I looked baffled by the perky "and what's your theme" question, he replied as cool as a cucumber "Thunderbirds. RC will walk down the aisle to a countdown followed by marriage is go". The poor coordinator girl.
As for the magazines .. I'm addicted to them! The same every month, but hoping I'll organise everything by osmosis by sleeping with them under the pillow. Will let you know how that goes ...0
