Ours too :-) good luck all couples getting married - themes or not!0 -
Just colour blue and silver and invites having things on them that mean things to us.:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120

God I'm pleased to read this! We decided on a colour scheme because we both love the colour teal (although we both have different views on what colour teal actually is lol do if definitely won't be matchy matchy) then decided you can't get flowers this colour but orange is a nice colour and you get lots of flowers that are orange so we just stuck with this.
But whenever I'm looking for ideas all I see are vintage country weddings. To be perfectly honest I am not quirky/stylish/imaginative enough to come up with something like that so it really wouldn't be us at all and would just look like we ordered everything from one par of a magazine. Even when I was looking for a photographer I kept coming across ones who were quirky and not us- it's exhausting having to sift through the fashion to find something suitable.
Sorry about the rant but it was like you read my mind!0 -
Well, it seems like some like all-matching colour schemes and some like mismatched vintagey stuff. I'm firmly in the latter category, but it's my taste, I'm not doing it because a magazine told me to.
I've seen lots of colour-scheme-matchy weddings in magazines too!7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

The thing with the Vintage theme is, it's an 'in' theme because it's becaome a bit of a general trend.
I've been to a vintage themed wedding, and didn't think it seemed cliche as the bride was VERY vintage anyway, like I imagine you are Wanchi, so it'll suit you to a T.
ETA: On the other hand, it really makes me cringe when you see some chav on DTTB or alike going on about how their wedding should by "Shabby Chic"0 -
Thanks RainbowDrops!
It's very 'us' iykwim, so nobody will think that it's fake or forced. In fact, I've said before that I could decorate/accessorise the whole wedding from stuff that I already have in the house! :rotfl:

Glad I'm not the only one who is bored of "vintage" weddings, there is nothing vintage about birdcages, sorry nothing at all. I much prefer a classic, simple wedding. I would just go with what YOU like0

Lol, I'm another one who thought 'uh, wedding?' for a theme.
I have bought material to make bunting, cos I like it, and plan on using my 'vintage' typewriter instead of a guest book - as about 9 years ago I bought one for a fiver in a bootsale because it looked nice, I was so chuffed when I saw that idea online as I'll finally get to use it!0 -

I have to say, that although this is the main idea in wedding magazines just now, I've not actually been to a wedding with this theme, or any, come think of it. The majorty of weddings that I've been to in recent years have been "purple".0 -
