OO, I think ZTD mentioned something similar a while back when we were discussing bread somewhere!
People remember what I say!?
It's the Chorleywood Bread Process. They stuff in 3 times as much yeast along with more water/fat and Vit C.
If you have a problem with it (also for gluten intolerent people) you can try French sticks which are made differently - or so I'm lead to believe. From time to time I miss bread, but generally only when in France or when the breadmaker is giving out yummy smells! Apart from that, I am not too bothered by it. It is giving up the other stuff - that feeds the yeast that I find much more difficult to do without.
Have you tried that threelac, or fivelac stuff? Basically consists of enzymes to break down yeast cell walls, so they dissolve and die and probiotics to steal their homes so they can't come back.
Not sure about the "active oxygen" thing though. Smells like snakeoil to me.And Z, your nose will only dribble when you laugh......
Which is just about all the time..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Just googled fivelac etc and being the good dfw girl that I am, I was horrified at the prices!!
That would mean that all my money saved by not eating chocolate would be spent on a sachet of stuff that smells like snakeoil
But I AM liking the French bread optionSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Just one in three sachets. The other two are the probiotics and the enzymes. But I AM liking the French bread option

Unfortunately I just about live on bread - toast for breakfast (I loathe cereal) and sandwiches for lunch.
Are there any other, more DFW, options ZTD? I just read that garlic is a good yeast-destroyer. That's more up my street.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
yes, garlic is a good one - garlic with everything from now on then!!
Just switched my electricity and gas - staying with same provider but moving to another tariff - they reckon I can save £190 a year. Not sure what it will save if I combine it with my efforts to reduce consumption, but it seems a reasonable thing to try.
I have sent my meter readings over online as at this evening, so I should have a fairly reasonable way of checking if it is saving us money or not.
Off to bed now, so catch you all tomorrow xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I suppose you could go on the usual (but very strict) anti-yeast diet for a few weeks to starve the bugggers out, then flood your system with probiotics. The (weakened) yeast and bacteria would then be in a turf-war for your intestines.
Though apparently yeast die-off is not an altogether pleasant experience."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
