Brother probably thinks he's safe cos he's moved to Newcastle...however Girlie weekend part two later this month is in part in Newcastle-I may just terrify him and send a pack of Donny Osmond fans around to sort him out !!!
Brothers eh??? If yours is anything like one of mine he'll be a liability for ever:rolleyes:
I'm sure you'll find the £11 somewhere, an opportunity to make £70 is too good to miss. Good Luck!0 -
Blimey Hypno I don't come onto MSE for a weekend and you've posted your SOA (well done on that!) and there's been a big discussion!
Our washing machine does have a built in tumble drier but I've used it about 3 times since we moved in last December (that's when we bought it). I have an airer and put it in front of a window/radiator and leave it to dry and it dries pretty quickly and use banisters if I get carried away! I know there's only 2 of us but I probably do 4 or 5 loads of washing a week on average including towels and bedding and most of it at the weekend so if were spreading it out over the whole week then an airer or two (when it's not good enough weather to dry outside obviously) is the best thing I find. I lived in a flat for a year and in halls of residence for a year too and survived drying everything inside on an airer so it can be done!
Also with all your salary/money from different places have you worked out how much you actually earn - I know it's not stable or guarenteed and it all goes to different things but if you said for example:
Income from therapies on average per month: £x
Income from university on average per month: £x
then ski club bar, mystery shopping, invigilating, matched betting, workshops etc etc. Would that give a better assessment of how much you actually earn/will earn in a year.

I do use the dishwasher - once a day. It is a new machine so very efficient, and we try and use the low temp cycles where possible. Plus I HATE washing up as much as I hate ironing!!
Someone at work is selling a sewing machine dead cheaply - I have expressed an interest because I have been pretty nifty on that front in the past, and could quite fancy a bit of OS dressmaking etc again.
I'm sure I've read that dishwashers are more energy efficient than handwashing when they're loaded correctly - so keep going! And you posted a bit later that you'd missed the sewing machine - what about freecycle? Its not urgent, so just keep an eye out iyswim. Good luck! Keep swilling back that coffee....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Nipping on briefly before home time. Thanks for the suggestions/responses about my SOA. I really ought to do a more detailed one at some point, to include car expenses (tax, insurance etc) motor bike, etc etc, and also to try and work out what income is likely to be over the course of a year, or even an average month.
So the one I have posted will have to do for now, perhaps I will have the new one ready for New Year!!
I have resurrected Myspendingdiary.com, and am ashamed to say I spent £1.15 on chocolate today that I didn't need. Oops.
I also bought..........a flute! I missed out on the sewing machine but the same lady was also selling a flute for £20. It needs a bit of a clean but otherwise is in fab condition, as is the case. I always fancied playing the flute (I played the viola and the saxophone as a much younger hypno) so reckon I can reasonably self teach myself. I thought it might be a good stress buster.
I will keep my eyes open for some cheap music (mine is all in the wrong clef - stupid viola!) in due course, but I can have a good attempt at it in the meantimeSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Wow - don't flutes need funny mouth shapes and what not? They sound so beautiful, I'm sure it will be a stress buster - but you're not allowed to badmouth violas! I've never played, but I love their sound almost as much as I love the cello, very soothing and calm. No shame in choccy; its a food group, you have to have it. I was going to go out to get some actually (since I had a whole bar yesterday) but a client has just cancelled, so I *might* even cook something (Karmacat shines her halo hurriedly)....

Ooh, that would be fab!! I got to grade 8 in viola, but never played the flute so hope I can start with "mary had a little lamb" stuff, and within about five mins move on to something a little more challenging!!
I am right excited - always wanted one as a kid, but I got lumbered with the viola instead! It was big and awkward to take on the school bus, and I envied the flute players who just popped their instrument into their school bag!
