I have been paid for my scrap of work at the Uni, so have been able to increase my total for the kids skiing :j The extra shifts I am doing won't be paid until the end of next month.

I can't remember if I mentioned but I have also got a bar shift on a Saturday afternoon, with additional work for functions as and when. Won't pay much but it fits in my week and gives extra money for the skiing. I start that in a couple of weeks.

Great news about the extra cash for skiing, especially selling the skis. I dare say the buyers got rather a bargain though?

Hi SF, yes I am only counting the money when it hits the account - we have set up a high interest online one specifically for it.

Every so often though, we send the funds through to the skier's trust who hold an account for the children, and they pay their fees from there. That way we are able to receive a bursary to contribute towards the fees (the £7000 I have to find is on top of the bursary!!).

I knew you'd have thought of that ;) and you'll get there, you always do! x

Yikes! I know skiing is expensive but where are they going? £7k + bursary sounds incredible.

It's a training college i believe verbatim, they have to do schooling etc and food and accomodation whilst they are there. i think by the sound of it it's going to be bloomin hard work bless them!! But i have to say they are two of the nicest, politest children i have ever had the fortune to meet and deserve every ounce of effort that hypno and her family are putting into this to give them such a fantastic opportunity with their future. xx
