£324 already?! Where did that come from? I wish I had your ability to magic money out of the most unpromising situations!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

A bit left over from OH second job, a bit of matched betting, a game of bingo (for cashback, but I won a tiny bit), money found on the floor (DD is a whizz at finding dropped change!) ebay money come through etc etc.
This week we should get paid for the skis we sold, and I get paid from my Uni job at the end of the week, so that will see the total go up nicely.
nothing like a challenge to get you finding extra cash!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
What date do you actually have to hand over the £7,000? And are you continuing to snowball your debt payments at the same rate, so your debt-free date stays the same?
Sorry to be so incredibly nosy, I'm just wondering if I could even consider challenging myself to find 7k in the same period.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I have to find the money by the end of November, and yes I am continuing to snowball the debts at the rate that my snowball has always been set at, but will not be making (understandably) any more overpayments to the snowball at the moment.
So really, that goes back to my original target of £10000 off my debt by the end of the year, which I will still be exceeding, but just won't be at the full £15000 off that I increased the target to prior to committing myself to the ski money!
I think that makes sense, although reading back, I am not quite sure!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Oh my lord, I already admired you but now I'm overcome with awe. £7k in two and a half months! And I'm sure you'll do it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

The thing is, that this sort of challenge is just not sustainable. I will be pretty much exhausted by that time - have put my name down for one bar shift a week to help out too on top of everything else I do.
Wouldn't it be fab if I could have a year of this - all my debt would be pretty much gone!!! (Mind you, so would I, probably!!!)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I'm sure you'll do it too, you always find a way somehow

Could you do consulting for a mahoosive day rate, on something related to your former profession? Surely stockbrokers pay a grand a day and upwards for advice? That would get you 7k faster than pulling pints and playing bingo.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Sadly Seaxwyn, I have been out of the City for too long - a day is a long time in the stockmarket and I have been away for 18 months.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
