Sorry, OO, will get right back to the "what small thing" thread.......

23_11_56.gifIs the £50 premium bond win part of the cunning plan, or do we have to keep guessing?

And would the spammer who has visited this morning, kindly bog off.....?

Bit of a bright shiny moment in this sea faring household. It was Popeye's win, and he handed it over and didn't say, "Oh good I can buy myself/us a...." He said "will this help? (it did) and "can I take out £30 whilst away on my business trip on Tuesday?" (he'd just tell me "I need £50" before):D

So a small step in the right direction for Popeye :T We will make a moneysaver of them all yet!!

I have just checked online banking - still no student money  but about £50 from paypal and matched betting gone in, so that has been transferred to the ski account.........I have now got 1% of the target - only 99% to go :j

Hi Taxi, physio is still ongoing - next appointment made for next week. We will get there!

Update on the PGCE - the September course is full but I am number one on the waiting list so if someone drops out I can get the place, but I have def been offered a place on the course that starts in January in any event.

I am thinking that January may be the better option anyway - gives me more chance to raise the money for the kids skiing.

I had to buy DS football boots today as he doesn't have any for school - was dreading buying them, but got some for £10 so very happy with that. Also managed to get a couple of ski bits reduced in a sale, one reduced further because some stitching was undone. I am perfectly able to use a needle and thread so can fix it and voila, 2 more xmas presents sorted that they will need in January anyway!

DD is about to make a chart - we need 150 boxes each representing £50 to be coloured in by the end of November, so hoping that this will be a visual incentive for everyone, getting them all involved somehow.

Right, off to grab a quick coffee before taking the kids to karate and then seeing a client. Back either later or in the morning xx

The lamb sounds lovely Hypno - hope DS is feeling better now.

Looks like you'll be getting to £7000 in no time.

I had a thought - don't know whether the university you're working at has something like this but where I work there's a 'small ads' service - where staff and students can post things for sale, things they want, and offer help with things too. You have to search around online for it a bit but might be worth looking to see if you've got one - I've sold a fair bit of stuff on ours - and also could be another way of offering your treatments (not sure if that's the right word!). If not I'm sure they'd be some way you could advertise (e.g. we have a monthly magazine here that people advertise all sorts in as well as university news).

Thanks YL, there is an ads thing somewhere on their site, but I don't have access to it yet. I will do some searching when I am next there and see how I can get it set up on my user id. Thanks for the prompt!

Well done on getting on the course either now or in Jan...that's good news...I like the idea of the £50 boxes...I always find visual aids work well...I've just thought of something else...do you have family that buy for you or the kids at christmas...if you do could they give money instead for a pressie...I don't know how you would broach the subject....we also have an evening paper here that you can place free ads in thats published on a tuesday night and you can sell items up to the value of £100 so anything you sell in it you are not paying anything out of the money you bring in...worth a try if you have anything like that...promise I will try and think of some other ideas that are probably stupid!!!

    Hiya Hypno
I've not been on for a while so hope everything is ok for you. How's your neck now? I'll catch up with your thread tomorrow but it's grown quite a lot since I was last on so it might take me a while!
