I now just have an imagine of you with a roast potato attached to your head :rotfl:

Doesn't beat the gymball or the toilet visions though :rotfl:

I may be too late, but Hypno, don't forget to remove the roast potato before you see your client.........
or perhaps sell it to them as an alternative therapy (they do something with hot rocks, why not frozen potatoes....)

Hi hypno...and all...accupuncture..that sounds interesting....good luck with the mb and bingo .....isn't it amazing what we used to throw away but don't now?....it's amazing how many times I have enough leftovers for the next days tea!!!...I try not to waste anything at all now...
My DH bought one of those £14.99 tens machines at the chemist...it's that small you wouldn't think it would do anything but I used it on my back last week and it improved it no end!!!..we usually go to physio at £35 a throw and this does as good a job as the physios big machine....DH has used it a few times and loves it.Maybe worth a try as it does it in 15 mins...

you will be relieved to know that I did indeed remove the potato before seeing clients :p

I also managed to "find" another £7 to pay off the egg card - I realised that I was paying £7 more than the minimum off one of the other credit cards, but as the egg card has the higher APR, the snowball would prefer it if I paid it off the egg card, so that is exactly what I have done today. OK, in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference to the overall totals, because I would have paid it off the other card, but because it is right for the snowball, it has to be a step in the right direction!!

I have also got a couple of extra shifts for my uni job coming up. I have set up a new account for that job's salary to go into, to cover the childrens ski costs, but I have decided that any money that I get as overtime will then get transferred into the debt overpayments. That is the idea, anyway, and hopefully it will encourage me to take more shifts if they come up, as I will see the effect of them a bit more. Don't know if that makes sense, but I know what I am talking about!!

that sounds like an excellent plan stan! At least then the cost of skiing will already be covered and the overtime would be a good bonus!!

hypno, acupuncture is FAB, if you can get it on the nhs go for it.

Great that you've got some more shifts, and it's a good plan to put the overtime towards debt overpayments.

I'm mega impressed that you're setting targets for next year already. I'm really hoping to get to 35k by Christmas but I am wary of targets as OH's and my income is so unpredictable.

I only did the target for next year to try and motivate me a bit, because I felt a bit "sludgy"!

So I got out the list of debts as they stood at the beginning of the year, to remind myself just how much progress I have made, then tried to convince myself I can pay off £15000 by the end of the year, then just sort of found myself thinking "blimey, if I do the same next year, it takes me to £20000!".

suddenly that became quite a nice thought.......so I am going to run with it (for the moment anyway!!) Income will of course remain unpredictable, but I thought it might focus me towards trying to maximise my opportunities!!

What a great idea Hypno...I find it easier if I allocate money from certain things to the debts and it really does help the totals come down as you know that it's worth doing the overtime then...thats how I do mine..
glad things are coming together for you and won't that 20000 total be heaven...I'll join you in a challenge if you want?...it's up to you....and try the same as you...
  • Accupunture can be fantastic if you find a good practioner. I have had four different people and only one was a bit pants, the others were fantastic. If you are a bit squeamish about it then tell them in advance and keep your eyes shut/averted. I was always fine until I watched them put needles in my hands then I felt sick.

I am sure you will have loads paid off by this time next year. I think the more tricks you pick up on here (ie MB, quidco etc) the easier it gets as you can get more for your money so hopefully it will speed things up for us all.
