Hypno, how could I have ever doubted your efficiency even in jest? :o

This is a very serious diary thread about a lifelong (so it seems) battle to become free of the evil debt. Humour of any sort will not be tolerated. Contributors to this thread will also be shot at dawn if they make fun of the diarist's diary, so best they make sure they have life insurance in place, if necessary going through quidco to ensure their dependents have the most money available to them on said death of funny contributor.

Ha Yorkielass - new job is at a uni!!! Didn't dare use the internet though :rotfl:

I thought you were working at a uni too ;) I like working at a Uni and I'm quite lucky atm as I can have a browse on the internet now and again ;).

I'm a great one for lists too, we have things on our whiteboard in our office and I whilst I'm at work I often write down what I need to do that evening in an email and send it to myself so I can check it when I get home and sort it out - now I sound very sad :o

Hope you've had a good day today.

Now Seaxwyn - have you been telling porkies:naughty: . Just a couple of short days ago there were tales of post holiday skintness, leading the rest of us to believe that despite being in the 40's we had a very slim chance of catching you up.

Obviously you were just luring us into your lair to laugh manically as you lower your outstanding totals still further :rotfl:

No we are skint, honest! But I've paid this month's minimum payments and coupled with the loan payment, they've taken me into the 37s. So long as I don't increase my debt, the min payments should reduce it by something like £700 a month.

And while it feels good to be under 37k once again, the total is only £70 less than on 1 July, it really has been one step forward and six or seven back.

Never mind, I'm having a 'glass half full' day.

Do tell me about Facebook, is it a good idea for someone with well-proven time-wasting tendencies? (I mean me, not you!)

I have a similar situation - if I don't use the cards, then the minimums alone will bring the debt down by £1000 a month, but sadly the need to use the credit card got the better of us over the summer, hence the slow debt reduction.

However, like you, I am feeling in a "glass half full" mode, and am determined to at least get nicely below £40k by Christmas. To see a figure beginning with a 3 will be very exciting for me!! May just knit my own yellow jersey :o

Did an extra tiny mystery shop today - only £5, but still money coming my way eventually, and another £1 on quidco! Businesswise though, the phone has been kind to me today, bringing me a few new clients for the next couple of weeks. Have also been asked to set up a meeting regarding corporate training, so need to get brainstorming before Thursday!!

Facebook - well, we spent about an hour on there yesterday, but I can't see me wasting too much time on it. Nothing like MSE!!!!

Well as you've reduced your debt by over £9k in eight months you are doing about right!

And Taxi, my money is definitely on you to win. You've paid off loads while on sick leave, so once you're back to working you will be in the yellow jersey for sure.

But we should all be worried about Olive's cunning plan. Come on Olive, spill the beans, the best outcome would be for ALL of us to get to 35k after all!
