Hi ATB, still sitting here in my dressing gown like a lazy slob, despite having loads of stuff to do and no excuses not to do them!!
I think I will give myself until 9.30, which is enough time for another coffee and then I will spur myself into super duper action!
Today I will be printing off my insurance claim and copying the receipts, then I have to go into the city to hand deliver the insurance claim, go to the bank, and close two very small building society accounts that I found passbooks for, might squeeze in another mystery shop while I am there, then come home and get on with starting OH credit card claims.
So nothing too difficult or anything, so why haven't I made a start!!!!!
How are you today? Good luck with the mystery shopping. Won't make you rich but is generally quite easy and every little helps. Have a look on the mystery shopping thread, there is loads of good info and advice there about which others to try.

I know exactly what you mean hun - I should be in the car on my way to college now! Had a look at the 'maximising income' thread - is that the correct one? It sounds like you have a very productive day on your hands so please dont be too hard on yourself. Everyone has little blips dont they now and again - your motivation will be back in its millions soon I'm sure.
I am the worst for motivation - spending a lot of time at home meant to be studying, yet I spend half my time on here!! And then wonder why the bed still isn't made at about 3pm!!! xMFW

Hello Hypno
I just checked in for some inspiration hoping some of your positive vibes will rub off on me! And there you are in your dressing gown, tut tut!
Hope your insurance claim pays up and you have a good debt-busting week.
I'm off to pick up 574 Yellow Pages this morning - to earn a massive £105! Unfortunately my kids will expect a hefty cut for helping out. It seems mad to be doing this when I can earn more sitting at my computer but I fancy the fresh air and exercise and I've always enjoyed delivering things.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Yes, ATB, that is the right thread. Now get yourself off to college. Right now. :rotfl:
Hi Seaxwyn, haven't seen you around these last few days. I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine!
I think that the YP thing is an excellent idea - gets you all out and about, the weather is good and you have to remember that if you were at home, you would prob be in your dressing gown too :rotfl: :rotfl: So all in all a very positive thing to be doing, and even after paying the kids you will have a little extra in the "pot".Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Yes thanks Hypno. We had a lovely weekend and almost completely computer free.
I'm looking forward to the YP delivery, lovely seeing all the gardens at this time of year. Also the money will get the DDs off my back for a while. They are always looking for ways to extract money from me. Thank goodness they will be 13 in three months time and able to work for real.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
My DD is 13 in June - she keeps reminding me that it is "only xxx days until my birthday" and I keep thinking "it is only xxx days until you get a paper round"
I have got the insurance claim delivered by hand to the office so that is one major thing that I have got out of the way. Just need to wait now to see if they pay up. My friend got hers paid out but she was with a different company so hopefully I will get at least some of mine back.
I also took in two building society passbooks that I found when I was sorting out my piles. Each had less than £4 in so thought I would close them, so took them in and between the two got £41.51 by the time interest had been added on :T
So took that and the £48 I had bagged up from the change jar and took it straight to the bank, keeping back just enough for me to buy a bar or two of Thornton's chocolate.
I feel much better now that I have achieved something. Hopefully the momentum will continue for a couple of hours this afternoon so can get a few more chestnuts out of the way.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Okay, most important question first - what kind of chocolate did you buy??
Well done on getting on with things, it always feels lovely when you can sit back at the end of a day knowing you have achieved something (says the woman who has barely left the sofa since 10am ).
What a result on the building society accounts - don't you just love money you didn't realise you had!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Well done Hypno! That's brilliant about the building soc accounts. You are a marvel being able to pay off £90 when you've just said you don't have a bean to live on in May!
My DDs are 13 in July and already have their names down in two different places for paper rounds. One has also arranged a lucrative cat-sitting deal for the summer holidays.
How much pocket money do you give your 12yo DD? Mine get £2/week each and keep suggesting they would like more. I can quite see it's not much but really don't want to fork out even more.
BTW one of the rules of delivering Yellow Pages is that you must not allow anyone under 16 to help. This is written in bold in the leaflet they give you. Ho hum.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
