You have got me thinking now - I am sure I have got everything, but perhaps I am not as organised as I hope!

Really sorry to read about the cat Hypno - but at least there's some closure I guess.
Where did you get your wide necked flasks from if you don't mind me asking - we do have a microwave where I work now but a flask would be handy for when I go out and about.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Hi Yorkielass! Morning all!
I got my wide necked flask (can't type that without thinking of the "wide mouthed frog" joke!) at Woolies - they are thermos and are £5 each, which I reckon I will easily recoup in hot dinner money, I often make a pan of pasta or couscous for lunchboxes, but they have to eat it cold. this way they can have this, or leftover casseroles or anything really and will be cheaper than school lunches, yet still keeping them full.
The weekend has started off ok, last night OH came home from the kids ski training with a cheque for £90 by way of a reclaim of race fees that we put in months ago - we are able to claim back half the fees for some races but they lost my claim so it was then out of time and although I put in a late claim I never heard about it so assumed all was lost. However, the £90 will go straight into my new "ski" account which is jolly useful because I have race entry fees for the British Champs to pay this week!
No plans today, OH is working all day so I am aiming for a bit of a catch up admin stuff type day. Of course, admin does include spending time on MSE - applying for freebies, catching up with diaries, looking for the next matched bet, and all that jazz!!
I hope everyone has a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi hypno! You're on mse early for a Saturday! Mind you, I'm the first response (as far as I know!) so I am toooo.... pot, kettle............ Sounds a nice day so far for you. Interesting about the slots thing. I haven't done anything like that at all, haven't really tried to get my head around it, but I know there are some great offers out there, more than just matched betting - less profit, but less risk, plodding through a headache thing like you did yesterday. I might do something like that, actually.
Since I had such a success with the fridge (auto defrost, goes under a counter, is quieter!!!) I may well splash out on a breadmaker today - I *miss* bread as a carbohydrate so much, and now I'm definitely mse, I can't justify £1.25 or whatever it is now in Waitrose for 4 rolls, or £2.70 for a little loaf of bread, I just can't. So a £25 breadmaker is just what I need, and when I've sorted the kitchen (it looks like a war zone, or at least a formerly-flooded zone) I can sort just where it will sit. And trainers - not back to school, exactly, just not-open-to-the-elements.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hey hypno, thanks for the recipe idea's for courgettes never tried them before but will deff look into it ...i'm back on the pleasure i know as night shift this weekend along with the last day of training oh the joys...when do the kids go back to school down your way? son has been back for a few weeks now and has already burst his trousers and says his shirts are too big so no doubt i'll have to take him back to the shops ...anyway gott go get ready for training ...keep well and i'll catch you soon0

Morning all! KC, I hope you get bread sorted - I don't eat the stuff very often because I have a yeast allergy, but sometimes I just yearn for it! I have tried all sorts of recipies, but never got anything as good as the real thing, so sort of gave up. I do use the breadmaker for everyone else in the family - the smell of fresh cooked bread drives me crazy when I can't partake myself!!
I have been spending an hour or so going through quidco trying to do some more of the cashback offers - there are quite a few that don't need too much spending but I am sort of doing a few at a time - so far today I have done two bingo sites - ended up £12 up on top of a potential £40 cashback, so all good there, plus a magazine subscription that will net £8, as long as I remember to cancel the subscription within 14 days - have made a note in my diary to do so!
So, I think I will do a couple more today, and then do some more later in the weekend, or next week. I know it takes a while for the money to come through, but it is pretty useful extra cash - a nice little bonus!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
