Wow Hypno that's great :T :T - but 3 jobs and a PGCE don't envy you there (although the PGCE I did was secondary teaching and full time so presumably yours is a bit different to this).

The PGCE I would do is 1 evening a week plus 2 saturdays a term for 2 years, so not too bad. It would be for 16+ post compulsory education I think. I have put a call through to the college but of course they are inundated with GCSE issues as the results are out today, so no-one has got back to me. I may have to take a trip to the college tomorrow to see what I can do face to face.

The children are printing out and posting leaflets through letterboxes to see if the cat is lurking. All very emotional

Ah I see - that sounds good. Although I'm qualified as a school teacher (trained in secondary science but technically can teach 3-19 year olds) I quite fancy adult education as something to consider in the future. I don't teach atm but I work in an education liaison role in a university so I get to go out and about into schools which is great.

really sorry to hear about the cat, I'm not a pet person I have to admit but I really feel for your children, hope something positive comes out of their leafleting.

Ooohh adult education - you can practice on us lot if you like :D

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. One of ours 'moved out' just before Christmas. He's still around, we've seen him a couple of times since. I think he must've found a less chaotic home to live in.

Fingers crossed yours comes home soon.

Congratulations hypno! You really are amazing. Laughed out loud at pania's chant, what a great start to a page!

But the cat.......... Oh, I remember leafletting for my cat. I remember my neighbour finding a photo of her and putting it in *her* window advertising the reward, I hadn't thought to do a poster. Have you done the phoning thing - vets, police, the council (if there's been an RTA - thats what I had to do, sorry). Desparately sad.

A happier leafletting time was when I *found* a cat. She was 11 months old, it turned out, and had had 6 kittens, couldn't cope and just walked away from them. I got her a better home. Then there was the one I found who had his phone number engraved on the medallion on his collar - he was a bit bossy, couldn't stay in the same room as my cats. And the other cat I found that I had to take to a shelter - I was moving literally the next day, couldn't even keep her 24 hours. Can you tell why cats are part of my screen name? I really, really hope things are bearable for you and for the kids.

Thanks guys, (again!). Sad news though, a man rang the doorbell about 20 mins ago and said that he had found the cat dead on Sunday, and not knowing where she came from, buried her in his garden. So, we have had lots of tears and it will be a long evening, but at least we all know.
