    Morning ATB!!

Yes, have to seize the challenges with relish. I spent a while looking at the figures again last night and I think that it is actually just what I needed to give myself a kick up the bum.

Since going away for a week in March I have found it difficult to stay motivated. What I really mean is that although I have done the every day stuff and not fallen back into old habits, I have had the energy to do the extra stuff that I need to do.

So, for example, I have still got bank charges from DH credit cards that I could start to claim, and I still haven't done my insurance claim for my missing luggage, which should bring in a little bit.

So, I think this lean patch and the challenge it brings with it is probably a blessing in disguise - I need that energy back!

    Hi Hypno

There are bound to be ups and downs in your energy levels but I think someone who has paid off £6k in 4 months is entitled to a slow patch.

Good luck with the May challenges. One storecupboard treat my children enjoy is soup made of Bisto gravy granules and nothing else. If you've got a carrot to add in, that makes for absolute luxury.

Morning El! So far a reasonable day, I have traded some reflexology with some plants for the garden, so managed to get a fab planter of plants in my garden for no real cost!

I have made a storecupboard/freezer meal plan for the week which means only absolute minimum required from the supermarket this week. Tonight we are having rice pudding - sounds strange but we have a Norwegian lodger and they have rice pudding as a main meal in Norway. Good enough for me - very cheap, filling and with that hint of naughtiness about it because we consider it to be a dessert!!

I need a printer cartridge so that I can run off letters to the insurance and to DH credit cards to claim charges, so need a trip to PC world where I have a credit note. On the way I can go to the bank and bank this week's takings so not using any unnecessary petrol by doing two trips.

So far, so good! Thanks everyone for the support, I hope El, that your day continues in the right way!

Ok, I have just been offered a huge mystery shopping assignment - over £160 if I complete it within the next 2 weeks :j I won't get paid for it during my lean patch, but it is too good to turn down and the money will come in useful for paying off the credit card in June :j

And my friend who I went on holiday with just phoned me to say that she was paid her insurance claim in full for the missing baggage, less 15% for wear and tear, so that has spurred me on to put my claim in. If I get anywhere near as much as she did then I will be happy. Must go and fill that form in.....x

Hi Hypno, wow - impressed at the mystery shopping!!

Good luck with getting your claim sorted for the missing luggage - that must have been a nightmare.

I really like the idea of having rice pudding as a main meal - I had it for tea frequently during my morning sickness phase, as it was one of the few things I could keep down. Mine was always from a tin because I couldn't face cooking, but I love the proper home made stuff. It smells gorgeous when it's in the oven, especially if you sprinkle a bit of nutmeg on top.....yum!

Hi Snaggles :hello: How are things with you today? Any more twinges?

Rice pudding is fab, I could live off that and porridge every day! Very DFW as it is only rice and milk and a knob of butter, but I think the family would complain if I served it all the time!

A few twinges, but nothing exciting to report I'm afraid. No major adverse effects from my long walk yesterday either though, I was really sore last night, but woke up this morning just feeling a bit stiff. I've just tripped over my birthing ball though lol! No injuries, but I really must learn to look where I'm going :D

That's not the way to get things started you know.....:rotfl:

I am currently typing up my list of dirty washing for my insurance claim. Once you start adding it up it is quite frightening just how much it comes to! I hope the insurance company look on me kindly!
