Grrr....just typed a long reply then it died!
Anyway, money from Norwegians safely in my bank account - did feel a bit like a rogue doorstep salesperson as I escorted her to the cash machine, hovered while she withdrew the money and then stood and counted it before paying it into my own account! Still, the money is where it needs to be and I can sigh a big sigh of relief.....:D
Spreadsheet for July is starting to come together. I am determined to get it right this month. I think I have been concentrating too much on whether or not I am able to make overpayments rather than whether or not we actually have enough cash to eat and put petrol in the car!!
Pasta -£1 bags from Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda. brilliant, couldn't do without them.
Courgette plants - work well in a tub. Produce loads of veg and cost next to nothing!
Got to go, client arrived and I am pretending I am writing up notes......:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hypno - don't spend the clubcard vouchers - sell them on Ebay - you'll get much more than £21 back and then you can cash then for the deal that the bidder wants and then send them over - might take a week or so, but will definitely give you more cash to spend at the supermarket than the actual clubcard vouchers. Might be worth it?
You're so good at the whole food thing! I too love the 3kg bags - we now eat a LOT of pasta!

Good idea re the clubcard vouchers. Will look into it over the weekend and get them loaded on ebay.
Just had a manic day full of clients - no time to even go to the loo inbetween, and did not get breakfast or lunch so now I am starving but don't know what to have (don't fancy pasta!!).
Still, my month business wise has turned out to be much better than I had expected, after a very very slow and worrying start, so that is pretty good. Let's hope July is as good, or even better!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I've just listed a voucher on ebay - but not a deals one. I have been hooked on a new site my friend told me about - and have got nothing done but stare at a couple of hatching chicks!!(http://www.mycampage.com/livehatchcam)

The Mummy Taxi Service is very busy this evening.......Had to take both DD and DS to karate. Then DS had a party. DD then did another session of Karate. Have just popped home and have to pick DS up from the party at 9.
In the meantime the Norwegians have seemingly taken over my house and I just want them to go and to let me have my space back. There are 4 of them here at the moment and they have taken it upon themselves to "land" in my lounge uninvited and assume that I am really happy to have them here. I just want some space.
Anyway, how's this for desperate? Normally I make a flask of coffee to take to karate for me and my friend to drink while we are waiting for the children. (very DFW). However, today I did not want to be "caught" making coffee and I really didn't want to make coffee for everyone and the conversation that it would entail. So I went to Macdonalds (told you I was desperate) and bought 2 coffees........and 2 muffins (one for me one for my friend). So I spent almost £5 just to avoid making coffee for my guests..... What really bugs me is that yesterday, before OH got paid, I only had £5 available - no cash machine in the land would have helped me out, so I bought really cheap instant coffee for home because I had run out and couldn't afford the decent stuff.
So now I have a jar of crap coffee, and spent almost £5 on macdonalds coffee - where is the logic in that
On the plus side, OH should be getting his pay sorted out this week. No quibble when he raised it with payroll, so that is good.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno...so glad you've got his pay sorted and that you've got the cheque replaced. When do you get rid of the norwegians?0
-
Hi Taxi, I have yet to get the replacement cheque but it will get to me eventually. Main thing is that I got the student rent paid - without that I would have been up the swannee!
The Norwegians go home on Monday I think, although it may be Sunday. I just want my home back
We then get July and August off and the next student will arrive at the very beginning of September by which time we will be so desperate for the cash that we will be willing to give up our home again!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. 4 Norwegians?! I thought it was just the mum coming over!
Bet you're looking forward to Monday, eh? First time wishing the weekend to go fast!
