Hiya Blue!!! I'm so chuffed to see you were wise enough to come back. As the others say, yes...you should most definitely start again! It's the only way to get there, Blue. You know what it was that caused you to fall off the wagon, so if it happens again, or you get any feelings like that - come on the thread and let's help you through - please!
Keep exercising and doing all the things that had made you do so well before, water, fruit etc, I know, I nag, but anything that helped you before - do it again this time. BTW, what method are you quitting by? I've a rubbish memory at times.
Go on Blue, you can do it!!! :T

Yesterday found the ideal place to move to:D - & it will leave us mortgage free as it's a major downsize from our current home - but we both loved it - just need to sell ours!!!!!!
It has 2 garages & an outside workshop so poor OH will have 3 choices of smoking zones
Have a great smoke free Jubilee

Hello again, Chrissie!!!!It's great to see you back, though I did wonder if it was because of the house, either viewers to yours or you going after another one. I do so hope yo can soon sell and move into what sounds like...your ideal home! It sounds perfect..and mortgage free too!!!! :j

Thanks so much for that feedback, JD, that's great news and I'm in no doubt now. I forgot you with the chicken etc. Ours are nearly all bald now! Well, not quite that bad maybe, but we've never had feather pluckers before (yes...that is what I said:rotfl:), but they've got plenty of space in the coop and pen as both are huge.
Thanks again, JD.
Sue xI had a major strop this evening, how I managed not to have a fag I'll never know!!
I've had 2 really crap days which culminated in me making a right balls up of tea tonight. OH came home to find me in tears! He gave me a big hug, bought me a kebab and fixed my car (which was part of the crap 2 days!)
I felt like it would have been so easy to have one, but I just refused.
Dead proud of myself I am!
Oh Sal, I am so very, very proud of you for getting to one of those times - and winning through!!!!! :T:T:T:T So you should be so very proud of yourself, that's one heck of an achievement!!!! :grinheart Always keep that time in mind to remind yourself how YOU won through and can do so at any other similar times.
Another thing you did was to let the tears flow - which is great - we all should any time we feel tearful. The same with having a yell if we feel that way...just be sure to get a pillow around your face and scream/yell into that. Just remember to take it away again before you smother yourself!
Sue x
BTW, I've never had a kebab in my life, I'm missing out.
To all lurkers: For those of you already quitting, stay strong and focused and keep busy..and don't forget your water!
For all those thinking hard about it, keep thinking what the reasons are that you're still puffing, then weigh them up against the reasons why you'd quite like to quit. We're here if you need help.

Ooooh you don't know what you're missing!! I didn't have one until 2 years ago, just fancied one so tried one (OH thought I was pregnant lol) and loved it! Gotta have lashings of garlic mayo on too. Oooh I could eat another one now! Got home made cannelloni in the oven though
As for the strop... feeling much better today, had another crap day at work, but I think my spirits are up because of the long weekend, I'm ready for it!!

Hello again
I have finally gotten past day 2 without caving yay!!
Trying Zyban this time and it has been a god send. Has taken all my cravings away.
Though I have reduced my 2 tablets a day to 1 a day due to the dodgey side effects. But the 1 a day seems to be working just aswell.
My body should now be nicotine free right? Should I expect withdrawal effects soon and more cravings?0 -
Thanks a lot for that, Sal, it's no good, you've got me yearning for one too. Maybe the weekend, we've one locally.....so it's looking good :j I hope you enjoyed your meal, delicious!
Sue xRainbowDreamer wrote: »My body should now be nicotine free right? Should I expect withdrawal effects soon and more cravings?
WOW RainbowDreamer, that truly is terrific news and I'm so delighted for you!!!!! :T No, you won't be getting any cravings, as like Champix, Zyban takes that all away so you can just ease your way through stopping smoking. Cut the tablets down as directed and after you've finished them you'll be ok!!!!
I am so pleased to see you just kept right on trying and were determined to give up one way or another. Please keep us posted, RainbowDreamer, it really will be good to watch you travel through your journey.
All very best wishes to you to get what you soo want!!
Sue xx
Have a wonderful weekend, girls and everyone.

Hi all,
i am now nearly 7 weeks smokefree using patches, was on step one for 4 weeks, then dropped to step 2. But since sunday i have not wore a patch at all.
Today has been the worst day since i quit, i could have caved in. my eldest was stressing me out to the max, he has done nothing but be naughty since coming home. Thankflly he is in bed now and i am calmer and more clearheaded.
Saving money everyday and improving my health aswell.
good luck to everyone on the journey to becoming and staying non smoking.PAD Maker0 -

Woohooo indeed, downnotout!!!! Your first complete day FREE from fags and it's a great accomplishment!!!! :T Now chalk it up as the day you changed your life! You & your OH are pulling together for the sakes of yourselves and the kiddies, keep battling on and feel your life cementing more and more with each day.
Be proud of your day free, DNO, it's a huge step and you made it through. Don't forget the pledge tomorrow, and keep all hands on the house, it'll keep you busy and take your mind off of the nasty, evil things! I am so pleased for you!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you for all of your inspiring stories.
It's been an emotional ride so far. I've gone from being calm and laid back to a bear with a sore head! I think the problem has been eating more, putting on weight, being miserable because I'm growing out of my clothes - it's a vicious circle. On the positive side, I tell myself I am not going to smoke, otherwise all this suffering will have been for nothing and I will still have to lose weight. It seems to work for me!
Another big incentive for me is the money I've saved. I've worked out I'm saving approx £50 per week. I have a plan to pay off my mortgage by the time my DS leaves secondary school - 6 years. I was already on track to finish in 10 years with regular overpayments. Now I pay that £50 per week straight into the mortgage every Monday (the day I stopped smoking). I have missed a couple because I've had a few unexpected expenses, new tyre, breakdown cover etc, but I'm determined to carry on doing this, after all, I always found the money for a packet of cigarettes!
Sometimes I feel like having a cigarette and I know if I had any on me I would light up. These feelings usually occur after eating, having a glass of wine, having a cup of coffee and a chat, things like that.
It's amazing that cigarettes are no longer constantly on my mind, like they were in the first couple of days, now when I think of cigarettes, it's usually in the context of "I haven't thought about them for x number of hours/this morning etc".
Next week I'm going to concentrate of getting more active, exercise dvds etc.
This afternoon I'm getting a train to London and it's the first journey I've planned (apart from driving) where I will not be thinking "Where I can have a cigarette before I get on the train? When I get to London I'll step outside of the station for a cigarette before I get on the tube, again when I get off the tube before getting on another train". Unbelievable to see it written down, but that was exactly what I was like!!!!
Anyway, thanks for reading - if you've got this far! Good luck to everyone on the same journey as me.
Have a great jubilee weekend0 -
Lovely to see you back, MOTK, and with such an amazingly inspirational post!!! You have done amazingly well, especially as it's through willpower!
Many congratulations on your journey so far!!!! :T:T:T You're thinking it all out in a first-rate way, very astute indeed. The habitual 'thoughts' will peter out and not last for so long the further along you go, they then will become just mere flashes in the head of "what's missing?" you'll realise what it is - then it's gone! Simple as that!
Brilliant news about your mortgage and look at your savings in general, you're so wise to be putting it, give or take, straight in to paying it off.
Now the exercise and you'll soon be back in trim. You're getting your life back, your health too, and you're certainly sorting out your finances!
Enjoy your visit to London - as a liberated being! Enjoy life as the same!
Thank you so very much indeed for such an inspiring post, please keep updating us as people's journeys are a joy to read about and this rates as one of the best!!!! :T
Have a GREAT Jubilee weekend.
