One week, 22 hours, 18 minutes and 54 seconds. 158 cigarettes not smoked, saving £49.16. Life saved: 13 hours, 10 minutes.

Made it past the dreaded Day 4/5 , feeling fine, not really thinking much about smoking at all - was very proud of myself to pass the "week" mark, yesterday.

    Onwards and upwards :)

    Hi

Just wanted to say I was a smoker for 25 years (god that makes me sound old but I am only 40).

I gave up both times I was pregnant and then went back to as soon as the baby was born, I means I was actually sitting in the smoking room when my oldest was an hour old thats how bad it was.

I finally gave up 11 months ago, and I can say now that I will never smoke again.

For some reason it just feels different this time, I think I was ready mentally and physically to do it.

    Good luck to everyone trying.

Briillliiiiiaaaannnnnnttttttt jinty!!!!! :T:j:T:j:T I am sooo pleased for you and so very proud of you in battling on through and beyond that dreaded 5 day mark!! :T Even better than that, sooo very well done on getting PAST a whole week!!!! :grinheart You've done yourself proud and I'm absolutely thrilled you had such pride yesterday! Fantastic news!!!

Hold onto yesterday and how you felt and, all being well, that should be enough to spur you on through any dark moment you might get. Onward and upward for sure because you now know it's something you CAN accomplish!!!

Splendid cutestkids, I would imagine you've been quitting all the time (or most of it) you've been on SPC 5. I'm wondering of you've saved the cash. If not just be soooo happy at quitting!!! :D

Hiya JD, you & I must have had the same plan in mind, to get the garden up together. DH & I have been blitzing it - in between watching some Olympics of course!

    good evening folks

hope everyone is getting quietly on just fine :D
    I have bit the bullet
as I have put on a little weight since stopping , have decided to now tackle that too before it gets out of hand ( though i am not blaming solely the stopping the fags for my recent weight gain )

I blame the cornish teas ;) and holiday foods Mmmmm

so its all good, am doing it MSE way by starting the couch to 5k exercise programme so it gets me and my wee doggy out in the air for a little longer ( must admit he looks bemused just now when i break into a jog:D) also joined a weight loss thread on old style board
    Have a great evening

    Hi guys

Sorry i've been a bit awol lately - been really busy sorting out housey stuff!
Just waiting for contracts to be finalised & signed and then we're on the move.

Had offer on our 'dream' home accepted - was touch and go mind as they wanted more than we could afford initially:eek: - but managed to barter them down a bit:D

Have also been offered an interview for a job at the other end so to speak - so things looking positive

Hopefully by 1st October i'll be debt free/mortgage free & most importantly still smoke free

I couldn't have done it without the help and support from Sue and others on here - so a big thank you to all you lovely people

    lots of hugs

    Hi all

I have been a smoker, off and on, for 9 years.

Eurgh! Enough is enough now. I have been talking about giving up for ages, I used to be able to cold turkey for a year + and it wouldn't affect me. It's now getting harder. My last cold turkey spell was about 3 weeks, one month ago.

I smoke very little - 1 a day? Sometimes none, sometimes 2 or 3. But if I go out drinking it's easily 20+ in a few hours.

I think I could do with a little support and I wonder if you lovely people might be the right place.

Four months, one week, one day, 21 hours, 59 minutes and 14 seconds.
1963 cigarettes not smoked, saving £588.93.
Life saved: 6 days, 19 hours, 35 minutes.

Apologies for not posting for a while, been busy with work etc.

Still doing well and managed my first night out clubbing since stopping and I didn't even fancy a cig! I was a bit worried because my friend who I went with is a chain smoker! but she was really nice and only smoked inbewteen pubs.

My inspiration for quitting arrived last week - my wedding dress :D :j

It's lovely to see some fresh faces, it doesn't seem 2 minutes since that was me!
 Been smoke free for 4 years!!

Have JUST realised that I have STOPPED smoking and given up being smelly, breathless, having tingly heavy legs and arms, not eating properly, ruining my teeth and skin as well as my health blah blah blah.....2 years ago today! :j:T:beer::T:j

That is what I 'gave up' and in all honesty it was no hardship

Thank you Sue and Jammy (and larmy x) you absolutely kept me going :A
