Hi HWG, will phone them tomorrow to get the latest balance - ohhh the tension!!
Went to Argos this morning to get some bathroom scales, had £20 in gift cards and found a set that looked good and had 100% reviews.
Got home, opened the packet and when i peeled off the plastic wrapper inside i was showered in tiny shards of glass:mad:
Actually the chip isn't huge but the tiny bits of glass were all over the bed as i was opening it up to read the instructions etc before use.
So now back in it's box and will be returned when we can, gggrrrr.
DH was all psyched up to start watching his weight too...
Fingers crossed they will replace it but annoyed i didn't check it before we left the store. I don't like argos at all, there is no pleasure in shopping there but we had the gift cards to use:mad::mad::mad::mad:Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Scales returned and replaced by a non-chipped set!
Good news is i'm 15-5, so 3lb off :j:jso thats 1.376% down:D
Secured loan below £20k on it's balance but still over £20k at it's settlement value.
Got four things ending on ebay tonight so fingers crossed, all have one bid, so they will sell:D
Huge bill from the milkman last night, but he was paid only two weeks ago, so something is missing from his spreadsheet! Have e-mailed.
Reminder for DH's car's MOT & service:eek: and house/contents insurance due next month. Noticed something on Quidco about cashback so will look. Also they had an offer from Plusnet for homephone, we already have their broadband, so will look into that too. Have been really pleased with their service, so fingers crossed.
Oh and posted 10 recorded delivery letters yesterday (2nd class :money:) to the creditors showing the wrong default dates.Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Morning PwD, just read your diary to catch up with where you are. Good luck with the weight loss
. No idea whether this will help you - I don't take any money, real or plastic when I go to work. That way I can't be tempted by a snazzy coffee, or chocolate in th afternoon. Stops any opportunity to pop not a shop n the way home

just wanted to say hello!
have you ever posted an SOA on here?
There are loads of good cashback deals to be had on Quidco and other cashback sites. Shop around for the best deals first and then see if you can get cashback on top;).
Re. weight/food/money. i try and halve all my portions - this ensures that i don't have to deprive myself of the food i like, i have lost weight and saved lots of money too. Do you take all your lunches etc to work?
Re. your car taxes. In the future, you can save money by buying cars in lower tax bands. Each put £50+ a month away over 10 years towards a new car. I take it you do need 2 cars?
Also, things like ice lollies etc - why not make them yourself? the moulds only cost £1 and you can make them healthier too - or buy in bulk from the supermarket eg. strawberry splits (approx 70cals and usually 6 for under a £1).
All these savings add up:) good luck x0 -
Ohh visitors, how lovely!
Tilly, yes i have tried to do that in the past and it was very successful but i have let things slip. Part of the problem is it's a case of getting a break from the desk that's as attractive as the coffee cupcake combo, ummm....
Hi Firesidemaid, great idea about halving the portions so you don't feel denied, will try that:D
Yes i try and remember to use Quidco, actually we don't buy much anymore but probably will get the house insurance through them this weekend and get the £70 cashback:j
Sadly we do need the two cars due to flexi working and children at nursery and schools that aren't on bus routes. Actually wondering if my car will get to 15 years and then it is classed as a 'classic' and there is no road tax at all.
Take leftovers to work for packed lunch, Dh is doing this now too.
Have sat tonight and gone over the SOA again on paper, will try and spreadsheet it and see what's struggling.

Well not a lottery millionaire, that will teach me (again) not to get sucked into the hype and the easy way out:o
Good news is Quidco have confirmed £20 in the next payrun for car insurance bought in March:rotfl:
Have bought the hse / contents insurance through them today too, so that should be £70 cashback sometime:D
Have gone through our money pots on paper and have agreed with DH what we need to revise and try and budget for all the silly little extras that we forget about (activites for the children basically) and try and have a pot of £50 a month for those invoices, rather than take them out of the petrol money and then wonder why we are struggling!

Oh forgot to ask, has anyone tried we-pay.eu? They pay for your old clothes, shoes, books etc. Just wondered if they were very fussy or would the unsold ebay stuff find a home there?Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
