I had lloyds policy which is the same as more than, it does state auto renewal and to call if you dont want itDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Whats wrong with people taking responsibility and making a note of the date when the insurance runs out on a calender/diary etc. Its not that hard to call your insurer to say "thanks but no thanks" to your current insurer and go elsewhere.0 -

Who would sorry ? :huh:0 -
If you are suggesting that people ought to take responsibility themselves by noting in their diary when their insurance falls due, you are in fact implying there should be no need for automatic renewals !0

Just me thinking yes then. There are a few points though. Your old policy should confirm it would autorenew, and under what circumstances. You should have received a renewal offer about two weeks before, with a clear price, and details on who to contact if you didn't want to renew. If they didn't, you should expect a full refund. Why don't you want to renew, eg, if you have cover elsewhere, you may well get a full refund.
Thankyou, unfortunately my health took a turn for the worse at the end of last year and follwing a spell in hospital had to relocate. Unfortunately this has also meant that I am not on top of my admin or have been able to update the insurer with my change of address. I have spoken to them and they insist that when I took the policy out over the internet I would have been told it would be automatically renewed, also because of my condition I didn't even have the energy to open the policy and read it, I just filed it away for a veterinary emergency. My memory is awful so I have no recollection of this just a note in my diary to say renew insurance. So yes my own fault but it raises in my mind that if you suffer with ill health and have problems runnign your own affairs that this could be a trap many people fall into.0 -

Yeah unfortunately, due to chronic PTSD I am unable to function like I used to. Never heard of automatic renewal and it is not somethign I would knowingly sign up for.0
