  • If the start price is 99p or less then yes, it's 5p off. With higher start prices you'd save more.

LOL - I've got a load of old toothbrushes I use for cleaning things with. Could be sitting on a goldmine! Keep us posted how they do!

Haven't read the whole thread so not sure if everyone knows.

But are you all aware that any auction winner can request sellers contact details via ebay (hence your details are not protected even if you only take paypal) .. so if you have correct phone number and address info registered with ebay your foot fetishist will have them if they put in a request (ebay will inform you that your details have been requested but there's nothing you can do to stop them being given out).

If you have your genuine item location on your listings (i.e in the item location field that appears on every auction) you could be selling to people who have specifically targetted you because you live in their immediate area.

And even if you don't have your correct item location on your listings buyers can still search with ebays "items within" proximity search tool and target you.

If your foot fetishist pays via paypal they can use a secondary gift addresses that paypal allow you to enter and send the shoes to wherever and you as a seller won't be aware that this isn't actually your buyers primary address.

Don't wanna put a downer on the thread but you really need to wanna watch yourself people there's some very disturbed individuals out there. And by advertising to them your stepping into their world.

All in all I'd advise everyone to be careful.

Thanks for the bucket of cold water, perhaps you should read the thread thoroughly and you may then appreciate the humour that is within it.

It's kind of you to make people aware of the potential dangers, but I'm sure the folks on here are reasonably astute and will have already taken on board the possibilities which cause you concern.

    Couldn't find an applicable smiley!

I dont think Greeneye was chucking the bucket of cold water.

Some people on this thread seem relatively new to ebay & may not be aware of some of the advice Greeneye has given.

Its good advice & just a reminder to people to be careful whilst they are having fun selling their manky shoes.

I was considering putting a pair of my 'very smelly' shoes on for a giggle just to see what they'd make but the very thought of a 'foot fetisher' getting my phone number or address from ebay has made me reconsider. Maybe someone who wasn't aware this could happen will think again too?

I work in a shoe shop & lots of people ask us to throw their old stinky shoes away when they buy new ones - I could make a fortune :rotfl::rotfl:
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
