Would you like other eBayers knowing what size undies you wear? Your thoughts....

It just seems so unnecessary. Although it doesn't bother me, anything which potentially puts customers off buying has got to be bad for us and for EBay.AMAZON MEMBERS CLUB - NUMBER 650

If you work with them they know what you look like and can probably guess your underwear size anyway. They will be interested in what you look like, what sort of person you are and how well you do your job, not what size your clothes are.
Yes, I agree with you to a point and I'm pretty sure my colleagues don't give a stuff about my size and shape - but it goes back to the pressure to be a certain size/shape - and it starts in your teens (if not even earlier these days). You'd have thought that by my age I'd have got over it :rotfl:I appreciate the general concerns about how it is now more easy to see what ebayers have been buying and selling, but I just don’t get the problem over size of underwear, especially as most ebayers are anonymous names anyway.
I don't think the size of underwear is really the big issue here - the OP could have picked all sorts of things - it was to highlight the intrusion into everyone's privacy (and yes I know if you really wanted to know you could click on the transaction no to find out the details)I wear size large 34 or 36 inch waist briefs and boxers and I really don’t care who knows.
'Cos you're a bloke
I only buy my undies in BHS or M&S anyway so it's between me and the bod at the till.

Ideally you'd have an ID for buying and an ID for selling but not everyone knows that it's possible to have 2 IDs0

As far as I'm concerned it's mandatory to have a buying and selling account.
Why? Becuase when you buy stuff you don't care about getting retalitory negs when you have neg a seller for whatever (valid) reason.0 -
Interesting to hear so many different views - but potentially I am losing 50% of my custom if people did not want their purchase to be shown. Would this then make you take your custom elsewhere on the internet?
I wonder though from those of you who did not mind it being seen, how many of you would buy gifts knowing that your partner would be able to see what you had bought (maybe before you had given it to them) and how much it cost? Would you mind if the details were posted on the feedback screen for them to see even before they had been given it? Would you then decide to buy elsewhere or risk the seller not posting feedback before you asked. bear in mind that I sometimes post feedback within 2 minutes of someone paying at busy times so it might not be possible that this could be avoided.
Just interest really, I wonder if fleabay would give a monkeys unless it affected their profits (ie, if people stop buying than maybe they'll change their mind). I personally would not want people to know what I had bought and sold - personally I do not go clicking through other peoples items to see what they have bought unless they have not paid me or have bought a items (never happens these days ayway), but if fb was there to see that would be another thing and I think it potentially means that sellers will lose sales.
Ebay has obviously done this feedback trial in a certain catagory and not thought this through properly and the implications it has for most of the sellers. For example, if you bought in imtimate woman 'toy' then would you want it knowledge to anyone who might be browsing - my friends know my ID's and I would not want them knowing what I had bought and they could be checking in the comfort of their own homes if they have nothing better to do - if that was the case I'd of gone to the shop in town. However, for the 1 person who does not mind there is going to be another 1 who does which is 50% of the buying market who might think twice before buying. Bear in mind I have already lost about 85% ofmy custom through shop listings not being shown these days - and no, as I have said before, I can't afford to pay £600 a week to list my items in main core listings so have to list them in shop format which no-one sees these days. So, my 15% left of customers is now going to dwindle to 7.5%.
For the record though, yeah, definately a women thing, I don't think my husband would care what size jeans, tops, etc.. was posted on his feedback but I wonder if a man could answer this question for me..... if you had to use comdoms that were (ahem) size 'extra small' (for example) - would you mind your feedback being shown for all (and your mates) to see or would you go and buy elsewhere on the web.
As I said before, people DO mind that their feedback might be there for people to see depending on what they have bought - if they didn't then they would not ask me withhold feedback!!0 -
but you could always check what someone had been buying anyway if you really wanted to know, by clicking on the item numbers in their feedback....its just one less click now thats all...0

Looking forward to the 'truthful' answers to this question
I think the men would all be buying XXXL condoms and making sure their mates knew their Ebay ID :rotfl:

The thing is now though, that there is very little effort involved, infact it's shoved right in your face if you want to check out feedback comments.

Not strictly true as the page shows the last 25 transactions and it would have been 25 clicks and then the back button to et back to the last page, so to see the same information would have been another 50 clicks!! Does anyone click through the last 25 transactions of a buyers/sellers account? Besides, if someone else saw your feedback, say at work over your shoulder, originally they would not have known what you had been buying, in what size and how much ou paid for it - now they will and that, for me, would be embarrassing.
Oh yes, much the same as the work colleague, who when he got my name from the hat to get my Xmas present, asked across the office what size I was as he wanted to get something from Agent Provocatuer (yes really, £50 present, I nearly pat my coffee when it was announced that was the 'budget'!!) tell me, would you have announced your size when they did not even make stuff to fit you in there - let alone that your husband did not even buy you 'those kind' of undies!! It is the same thing in my opinion!!0
