Would you like other eBayers knowing what size undies you wear? Your thoughts....

I am tired of eBay!!
In fact, I have been enjoying a few weeks off because they choose to cripple business for us. Thank god I have not chosen to borrow from the bank to buy stock and that it is all bought and paid for.
What a ridiculous new system this 2.0 Feedback is. I sell undies and it is going to put a lot of people off buying because it will now state the size and style they have bought on their feedback. The only way around this is to tell them to let me know they do not want feedback left for them and I will not leave it for them and that defeats the object surely?
Would you buy something knowing that the size you bought was readily available for everyone to see? How ridiculous, I am fuming with eBay for doing this.
Also this week they have taken out of option of being uble to sell underwear in sizes. I have tried using specifics but their drop down box is not working - not that it makes much difference as I would have to manually change 1500 items into size and I certainly do not have the time to do that!! We did not even get notice of them doing it - the options just disappeared, all you an choose now is Underwear - no choice of brief or bra size so it just brings in about 1,000,000 listings in the underwear catagory. I looked at the specifics, choose 'Bra' but the specifics for size does not work so I am not sitting for a week putting them all in specifics anyhow.
We have been selling for 6 years on there and feel really disappointed that they have no concept of loyalty but I guess that is eBay all over. Sure bring in new structures but why not aply these to new members and not the old ones who have bought you in a tidy profitover the years to get you where you are now? The are crippling our sales with their stupid ideas and policies they have bought in since last year and making it so hard for people to find what they are looking for in our catagory as well as charging us the eath for fees. I never list in core unless they have a promotion, it would cost me £600 a week to do where as before I would pay around £100 a month for shop listings - yet sales were much, much higher so if eBay are losing money from me they must be losing it from everyone else. I wonder if we can sue them with lost sales with all these things they are now implementing? They seem to be making less and less user friendly. If I was a larger size then I certainly would not want people to know when looking into the feedback and this will put a of of people off buying.
Mind you - might bring in some more private sales so that would save on eBay fees. I guess we will have to wait and find out. This week I have had more website sales than I have on eBay which is the first ever for us. We have a cheap website as well so maybe people will start shopping for the same bargain outside of eBay knowing they have the same security with Paypal yet do not have to worry about feedback being left. Has this done us a huge favour? I guess we can only wait and find out.
The thing is - would it put you off buying something if you knew that the description of the item you bought is now going to be available for everyone to see. Your thoughts please......

wouldnt bother me....if people wanted to see what size undies I bought, which may or may not be for myself anyway, good luck to them.
personally I have far more important issues in life to worry about than getting stressed over knicker size....;)0 -
I can honestly say it really wouldn't matter a bean to me. I can't see why anyone would care if they knew I wear huge sized knick knicks :rotfl: :rotfl:
Do you do cheap maternity underwear by any chance :rotfl::rotfl:Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

I wouldn't be too keen on having my purchases paraded for all to see, I know that people could check if they wanted to but doesn't everyone get fed up after clicking on the first half dozen or so? now it's no bother at all to have a good nosey around, it's like going through someones cupboards!
The only solution I see is not a good solution at all - make a note in your listing that feedback need not be given if requested0 -
I've recently set up a new buyer's account, so no one that I know knows my new user name. However, I would REALLY hate people I work with knowing my underwear size (probably because most of them are the opposite sex), not so bothered about friends and family.
Is it not possibe to make each auction/BIN 'private' so that no one can tell what was bought? Sorry, not too sure about all the intracacies of Ebay.
Also, at the top of your listings could you state something along the lines of 'To protect your privacy feedback will not be left for you - I will be happy to leave you feedback if requested, please email me on completion of sale'?

Morning AT
I thought it might be easier for 'undies' sellers to have their buyers 'opt in' to feedback, at least that way there would be less risk of leaving feedback and upsetting a buyer. Also, less contact made, as on the whole I think they would be more reluctant than enthusiastic about feedback being left.

Yes, this is what I thought but it means manually adjusting each of the listings which is a real pain. I was not aware that this mch info could be seen but I am thinking about having to make each auction private. Again, I think that is something that I will have to do manually. I'll be back later with more thoughts and views (and thanks), kids are on an inset day so have to stop them tearing the house down!!0

Use private auctions. The underwear I bought last week shows as private on my feedback (left yesterday) and it is blank in the place where my other feedback shows the item purchased:Hope to deal with you again. Thank you. Seller: xxxyyy ( 356) 07-Mar-07 16:57

The thing is isn't not just underwear - I sell china, I made a sale and the buyer lived about 5 minutes drive from me so we arranged that I took it around.
They were a charming middle aged couple, we talked about the things that middle aged people talk about and they asked me to look out for a particular china pattern that they were collecting....
By the time I got home I'd forgotten the name of it so I looked through their feedback to see if they'd just made any purchases - they were buying and selling (slightly nasty) bondage stuff, so now all their sales and purchases are on show for all to see....now that the feedback is known about people will start buying with private auctions but their previous transaction are on show for a while yet0 -
I'm with you on this. I don't want people to easily see what I have sold and bought, much preferred the old way.....Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
