The difference is that under the old scheme you had to click each item to see what it was that was bought, so I assume people didn't bother. The new system shows it automatically. You are right though, items bought and sold have also been visible in feedback as long as you did one mor 'click'.
That's what I thought.
I've certainly always clicked through on a few items to see what people have bought - allows you to profile them a little in the head, estimate how serious they are as a buyer/seller etc.
(and if I suspected my gf was buying stuff for another man, I'd probably have a look anyway...)
As to the underwear thing - people can see that my boxers are size L if they want. Doesn't bother me, don't understand why it would bother anyone.0 -

That's 'cos you're a bloke! It is less likely to bother blokes than ladies, for ladies it's a bit different.
Same logic as putting on weight, okay for a guy - not for a girl.

You're right, it shouldn't matter, but it does.
Ladies/girls are more likely to feel too big or too small and therefore want to keep actual sizes to themselves.
It's an unfortunate result of the society we live in where there is a lot of pressure to be a certain size/figure.
I'm not saying it's right - 'cos it's not! But that's why.

Hadn't thought of it that way - possibly, but even easier if they just put someone's user ID into something like Goofbay (there's probably an equivalent search on Ebay - but I don't know it) and you can see their turnover for the last 30 days anyway all nicely added up for you too.

I agree with you. As a woman, if I bought underwear (or any clothing) I wouldn't want anyone to know that I have to by ugly hammock bras big enough to make two helmets.
Underwear, once you get to a certain level of maturity (I'm only 28 honest lol) is personal. I would never dream of randomly telling strangers my cup size so why do Ebay think they have the right to do it on my behalf.
I don't think this is necessarily a sex issue though. I know that there are a lot of men out there who would rather not have there sizes pasted on ebay for all to see.
I wonder if ebays new system is somehow an infringement on our rights?? Shops would get closed down if they started putting up signs in windows saying 'Mrs Soandso bought a 44DD in lace with pink roses on it and crotchless panties in a size 16':dance:One good turn gets most of the duvet!! :dance:0 -

It's not only the size of the undergarments that matters it's also the type of stuff that you wear (the more exotic lingerie etc) that you don't want show to the world0 -
Wouldn't be bothered - but I am male. In fact, the bigger the better!0

If you work with them they know what you look like and can probably guess your underwear size anyway. They will be interested in what you look like, what sort of person you are and how well you do your job, not what size your clothes are.funkyfunkymonkey wrote: »…. However, I would REALLY hate people I work with knowing my underwear size (probably because most of them are the opposite sex),..
I appreciate the general concerns about how it is now more easy to see what ebayers have been buying and selling, but I just don’t get the problem over size of underwear, especially as most ebayers are anonymous names anyway.
I wear size large 34 or 36 inch waist briefs and boxers and I really don’t care who knows.
