My sales are doing OK on Amazon but it is more cos at the moment I am selling my own stuff, where is the play site on play.com, I cant seem to find it.

Thanks to the person who advised me to sell the heavy books on Ebay rather than Amazon.

wilf, it is so annoying isn't it when you can't find a book. The last couple I lost I found in my 'to read' pile. I now use that as a selling technique, pass everything through my 'to read' pile for a few days just to see if the selling fairy pays a visit.:T

Talking of selling fairy, I listed a dozen books yesterday and sold 2 to the same buyer last night. I've refunded a small part of the p and p just as a goodwill gesture and he seems very happy with that. I sold another oldie this morning, but only because mine was the lowest priced by miles (it was nearly a million in the selling ranks and a text book so it needed to go before it got too old). That means I have reached my montly target of 30 books so am happy now to have my vacation settings switched on ready for my long weekend away.

    Hi

I know what you all mean about losing something you have sold.

I sold a CD at the weekend and when I went to pack it, found to my horror that the case was empty!! (good job I checked!).

I spent hours opening every other CD case to see if it was in there. OH comes into the room very sheepishly holding the afore mentioned cd. It appears he took it to listen to in the car and forgot about it. He swore blind he hadn't had it and it was only on the threat of divorce did he help me look.

Doesn't he realise - cd's are for selling , not listing too!!!!!!!!!!

hi guys a moral ethical question here now

as i recently lost my 100% feedback record on amazon due to some pillock sorry gentleman misreading my description and now have lost this book....god how disorganised i must be...

i have downgraded from proseller but would it be worth relisting my books in my partners name who has yet to start selling or open an account by the way to try and learn from my mistakes and maintain what would be an unblemished record????

    any opinions greatly received

    thanks guys

    Hi Wilf

I can understand your temptation, but you must have some good feedback already and that is worth something to a prospective buyer. Have you left a calm and factual response to the feedback where the description was not read? This can say quite alot about a seller and how they deal with 'issues'.

With not being able to find the book in question, how many days late in posting it are you? Can you get another seller to send it for you - yes this might cost you a bit more but you could also email the buyer, explain that you have hunted high and low and have sourced it from another seller so that they are not disappointed. As you have left it a while now I would be really reluctant to just refund.

It is possible that you might get a 'bizarre' buyer leave feedback first on your next account and end up with 0% feedback - that would be even worse.

    Just my thoughts.

thanks fdf ok i emailed the buyer of the lost book as i am unable to purchase it from elsewhere i have offered her a £5 discount and free postage off any other book that i am currently selling and said she could have the book for free if i find it

at this point it is critical to maintain feedback only just started selling on amazon well 3 months ago so although i have sold about 70 books have 26 feedback ratings

i left the buyer who left the bad feedback a response detailing what happened stating that i listed the book as acceptable and highlighted the fact that that is amazons lowest condition category as well as highlighting the faults in detail

its just that if i am purchasing a book i look at the % rating of the seller

i no longer feel confident about listing even though i am trying to be honest and fair

have managed it with ebay for 2 years or more and maintained 100% feedback with excellent responses on over 400 feedbacks if that makes sense

since the feedback has reduced i have had no sales just feeling a little disheartened i guess

boston thanks for the pm just havent had time to read and digest it yet will do it when the tazmanian devil is in bed later

    thanks everyone
