Morning everyone
It's a cold, wet, windy morning in County Antrim
Yesterday I posted details about our Tesco complaint on the MSE Vent Forum and my local board, the MSE NI section. You may have seen these. I have found Tesco Customer Services very ineffective in dealing with the matter
On a brighter note, it's Friday and the weekend looms :j Looking forward to some relaxation and the ManU match on TV tomorrow.
My mother is coming up today to see us like she usually does on a Friday. Looking forward to a nice chat this afternoon.
Hope all MSErs have a good day0 -
Hi Guys
Been a pretty laclustre week for viewings:(
I don't understand why people are gushing over the place and doing nothing about it.
I have a problem as well. I am not anti children or anything but the kids next door are yelping in the dark during the times that would be for viewing. I am terrified they will put off prospective buyers. It is so loud, we cannot eat or unwind. We complained, and got a 'it's not that bad'. Duh it is that bad and dreading the light evenings.
If we could sell to people with children, they wouldn't mind.
A quiet day for us so far
Having veggie haggis, neeps and tatties later, if we get peace to eat it
A small pile of ironing to be done and cleaning the place in case we get weekend viewings. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Off up town later. need to think about tea too. However, right now I have a screaming baby lying on the bed, so I'm somewhat restricted. She won't take a bottle, her bum is fine...she's just completely lost it. And I know for a fact that she can be heard across the road.....Anyone got any earplugs I can borrow?Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -

Morning all and big hugs to those who need them
Last day of dd's convalescence today and we can dispose of the last dregs of the dreaded eardrops. I think that one at least of the grommets has fallen out as she is saying HUH? a lot again but it may be selective - she's getting to that age
Middle dd and I met up i town yesterday and she persuaded me to buy some actual new clothes from an actual shop - a rather nice cord jacket, button hanging off so knocked off a fiver, a bag and a necklace/earing set. It all came to £20 so we rushed out of the shop before they realised their mistake only to find that the jewellry had scanned at a quid instead of a fiver so we didn't have to feel bad
She came back with me and cut my hair - looks well nice. I think it's her way of saying I have been single for long enough
I am the world's worst hairdressing client which is why she does it. I fidget and stress, don't want to look at myself in the mirror, and hate the chat. When I had it short I used to go to a barber, much quicker and cheaper.
This keyboard is skipping letters so I think it's telling me it needs a cleanI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning :hello:
Glad the forum seems to be running OK after the overnight maintenance!
Welcome thewestfive
Penny-Pincher!! - so pleased the cleaner finally seems to be working out :T
N9eav - hope DD is better soon
mrs_mix I didn't see what happened as to why you were thinking about leaving, but very glad you decided not toMy avatar would feel lonely without yours for company
Blairweech, glad OH is seeing sense
catowen, congratulations on getting the computer back :T
moggins glad you and XDH are getting on again. It is NOT a bad thing that he still wants to split up. My parents split up 9 years ago after many years of my father's unreasonableness, and they have been the best of friends ever since - that DOESN'T mean that they would suit being married to each other any more now than they did at the time!
Sorry to anyone I've missed out
Last night's work drinks were ok until the guests of honour (and most other people) left at about 9pm (lightweights!) taking the bar tab with them! I stayed longer as I was enjoying being out with a couple of people I used to work with, so I did end up buying a round, seem to recall it was about £17  when I'd thought it would be a free evening out. Still, should still come in on budget this week, I have about £11 to last till Sunday and only need a few grocery odds and ends (macaroni, kitchen towels, fresh fruit), tomorrow's newspaper and 99p paperback, and a programme for the concert I'm going to on Saturday. That little lot shouldn't come to more than £10 in total...
Need to do a spot of batch cooking this evening, a leek and potato soup and a yellow pepper soup. Might do them simultaneously as it always seems less effort to get two things over with at once.
Tasks for weekend include: Sort my bedroom out - it's still full of junk from when I moved, and the carpet's filthy as I can't fit the hoover round for all the mess, and it's bugging me! Possibly go over to my old house and collect some bottles of wine, oils and vinegars which I neglected to take with me. My router is playing up (again) so not sure if I will be able to post over the weekend, I think I'm going to get myself a cheap spare ADSL modem to tide me over while getting the router sorted.
Must go, loads of work to do...

Good decison Mrs Mix:j
Been up since crack of ridiculous trying to get tickets for The Police in Manchester for October - result - No chance:mad: Sat for hours on the ticket master site to find all sold out. Boo hoo was hoping to catch pam out with a few "Regatta de Blanc" questions:o
So now its back to work - got some coaching/counselling calls to make with team who are being made redundant today which is never pleasant but will hopefully be able to help them sort some new goals/career plans out.
Tonight out with a nutty mate who should be able to lighten the mood with her strange perception of life - love her loads but she aint half dopey sometimes :rotfl: E.g. she was booking a night out for a load of us to go and see a comedienne locally and she sent a cheque, waited for the tickets only to get a letter to say that the cheque was from an account that was not longer open (and hadnt been for 5 years:rolleyes: ) and guess what now the tickets are sold out, her response - well I havent got enough money in my normal account to cover it so I thought they wouldnt notice:rotfl:
So my Friday will cover the rich tapestry of life me thinks:D and then tomorrow is the meet:j
Right best get ready for these calls
Catch you all later

I do need a new kitchen too. It has been badly designed and most of the handles have fallen off and the plinth falls down if you touch it. The worktops are scratched and I reckon theres millions of bacteria lurking. The oven (which is fitted) only works at 220 and 1 of the gas rings doesnt work which leaves me with 2 massive rings and 1 tiny one. So either food cooks too fast/boils over or takes about 30 mins to reach a simmer.
The tiles were painted by the previous owners and everytime you give them a good clean the paint comes off.
I hate it soo much I cant wait. We are stretching ourselves to do it but it is necessary and it is the room where everyone spends a lot of time. The builder is coming around weekend as there are a few jobs to be done firstly - such as moving gas pipe but Im hoping that work will be started by the end of the month.
When it is done I will post the pictures on the 'where the os magic happens thread'.
Anyway I should be working so best get off now.0
