The way i read it was she was more aiming at the people who are not registered on this forum and who do not contribute at all to the comps posts.
I think her wording could have been much better but i dont see too much of a problem with what she has written.
yeah i didnt see a problem either0 -

and like i say some dont even thank
You did say it - it's there in black and white.
Sometimes there isn't 'room' for people to 'help out' - loads of posters have problems sorted or comps posted before most can even comment or give input.
You didn't thank posters yourself a year or so ago until someone pointed it out - maybe others just need a little guidance in how the boards operate. The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -

If people aren't reg'd they cannot thank posts nor contribute to posts.
There could be numerous reasons as to why people don't register. It could be a daunting task for some. If they then register to thank rec'ing a win it can only be a good thing as then they may be brave enough to continue using MSE and the comping community that has grown within it.The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
I don't often get the chance to post up competitions on here - peeps normally get to them before I do :-)
But i'd like to think I always say thankyou and give tips and advice when I can.
Was suprised compclub my facebook/twitter didn't get a mention - but oh well.
If anyone wants to know any facebook comping in's and out's - i'm quite a good person to ask - feel free to PM me.
I did recently post up a basic/beginners guide to facebook comping - not sure where it's disappeared to on here now though :-)Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -
Even though I am friends with Di on facebook and have turned to her a few times when in need of advice - I have to say I was pretty offended. It does make us "MSE-ers" out to be all bad. Even though it was said that SOME don't contribute - how are promoters going to single those out? They won't - they'll take the forum as a whole and it's gives us an even bigger bad name than we already have thanks to some people!
I like to think I contribute, not as much as I'd like to - not enough hours in my day to do anything more than I do now, but even I feel guilty sometimes when I have a good win.
On the subject of greed - what it means to one means something else to others. My wins total over £12000 for just over two years of comping - I don't think I'd ever stop though. I love getting little (or big
) things through the door that I can surprise my children or family with. Still hoping for a nice holiday but my time will come. What I don't agree with is people winning 3 ipads, selling them, then entering for more!! But that's my opinion!
And if you think this thread is bad - you should see some of the things said on Facebook over certain competitions. Or competition winners. It really shows the "dark side".Thanks to all posters :A0 -

Could have something to do with the fact that the competition club advertised an automated entry thingy a while back - just a guess though

- Unfortunately a few compers can be greedy. Many are at home full-time, and will enter to win anything and everything regardless of whether they want it. They are often regular visitors - though not contributors - to the www.moneysavingexpert.com competition forum
- Some compers can enter hundreds of comps a day and as a result are likely to spend no time reading your blog (or indeed, any website they visit) - if an answer is required, they will usually have copied it from the MoneySavingExpert post
