Competitions Discussion Thread Part 17

Having researched the term 'trolling' I think this may be in reference to my comments regarding my Facebook block and the likelihood of winning these days.
Apologies if my views came across as negative but both are based on fact and evidence.
Facebook has blocked me for 30 days due to repetitive activity (comp entries) and competitions are becoming much more commonplace and what used to be worthwhile is, in my opinion, becoming far less so. We are all entitled to our opinion.
To be honest I had not read them.I'll get reading now :-)0 -
Has anyone else been kicked off facebook. I have a second account which I use exclusively for comping, have not added any friends, but must have pee'd off Mister Zuckerberg as I have a 30 day ban for breaking one or other facebook rule of engagement. Don't think I have ever won anything via facebook, but a bit strange that I have been accused of spamming my "no friends"...0

Facebook rules say that you can only have one account. That's probably the reason. You were lucky not to have had both accounts closed. It's happened to others.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

In the last few minutes I have sent an email to MSE admin re an established member possibly using AE's to "troll" this board.

An alter ego (AE) is generally someone who's previously been PPR'd (see What's "PPR" under some people's usernames?) and has joined under a new username to cause dispute.

As per my previous post this is seemingly becoming a regular occurrence and there doesn't appear to be much that can be done about it.
I have two accounts as I do not want to clog up my original account with comp posts.
I intend to wait until the 30 days have passed, try again, then if it blocks me again, close the account and resign to the fact that I can no longer enter any FB comps.0 -

For these with two facebook accounts it is simple to manage one account and conp drom that. All you need to do is set up a list of comping buddies then just post the comps only to that list of friends. It is clear that you can only have one account (and the obvious fake names bug me too while i am at it lol)£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

But surely if you only make 'shares' visible to a selected few, the Companies that post the comps can't see them to check that you've done it? A lot of them now say that you have to share them publicly for that reason.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
