Hi I am a new comper. It seems to have taken over my life at the moment. Ive been at it non stop and as of yet have failed to win anything. I would really appreciate any advice and tips from you guys :):A
  • Hi! It does take a while. Remember competitions usually finish a few weeks/months after the date they are live, so wins could start coming in after a couple of months. I had my first win after 5 months, but it was a £500 cheque! Well worth persevering :-)
2014: Desolation of Smaug DVD, Magix photo programme, RUSH DVD, £100 Lands End voucher, Hugo Boss La Vie perfume, £1000 Tesco vouchers, Winnie the Pooh Bundle, 7 night holiday to Spain
  • Hello 'Daicile' thanks for posting, I'm sure people would be happy to help you but your post would be better in the 'Competitions Discussion Thread Part 17' or in the 'The Compers Inn part 37'

As this part of the forum is for posting competitions.

    Many Thanks

    George

We all have good spells and weeks or months where we don't win a thing - when I started I think it was 2 or 3 months before my first win.
My advice would be go for smaller prizes as well as the huge ones - it's nice to get unexpected small wins and if it's things like books then not as many people enter as they do for the stonking great tv's for example.
Enjoy comping, treat it as a bit of fun then anything you do win comes as a bonus.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

wow that must have felt amazing :) Im doing it for a bit of fun but i have definitely caught the bug. Do you stick to the same comps or do you enter anything that takes your eye? Do you just enter the cop once or a number of times?

I have been doing it for years, entering hundreds per day, I might only win one thing in a month even though I have entered thousands of comps.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
  • i dont enter competitions with the intent on winning them but if i do then its a bonus. i do it as a hobby. i only enter the ones i would like not all of them, this year ive had a weekend in brighton , nintendo wii, a 4 night cruise on the queen elizabeth and 2 tickets for leeds festival..
