Did you turn the hairdryer on when you picked it up? Did the money blow away?

Back in the days before I was really anal about budgeting (oh the carefree student days) I would get some nice surprises and find money I didn't know I had in some old coat pocket or under the bed. Doesn't really happen these days I know where every penny is at any one time. Yes I am watching them closely.

    Still no joy I'm afraid!!!!!!!!
Put my washing in and spent 2hrs searching through all the trouser legs etc, to no avail! lifted the rug and it wasn't under that. Maybe we have mice and they've stolen it to buy cheese.................

I'm sure this is a silly question but I'll ask it any way - did you look at the underside of the rug or just at the floor underneath?

How much are you actually looking for and how many pieces of paper? You had £60 but gave some to your father so are you looking for one note or five?
  • I spent AGES looking for a purse and a wallet I knew I had put somewhere safe, cancelled the cards, received new ones....

....found them both weeks later, under the bed right against the wall, where I'd looked tons of times.

(Shows how often I move the bed to clean under it).

Do you have any furniture or a shelf near your hairdryer? Look in, on, under, round and near it?

    Good luck!

Well I agre in that I still haven't found it. But it's wholly possible to lose stuff in my house as I have loads of stuff crammed into a tiny space, and I'm in the process of clearing it out to a) have a clearout
and b) hopefully make back at least some of the dosh that I lost (maybe I can make extra dosh then find what I lost and have double!) He he he

Can you guess that I'm past despair???!!!!

I always put things just out of eyeline, so stretch up where your hands can reach and your eyes cant see and you will find it!!!!

I constantly loose things, the last was a money box. Looked and looked to no avail. I was convinced I had some money in it too!

I found it the other day at the back of a drawer, I have no idea why I put it there, especially as it was empty

The majority of things turn up where they should be and where I first looked, I think I convince myself I won't find them even before I start looking, and therefore miss them when I look!!

It'll turn up, I am sure. Try to put it out your mind and it will turn up quicker, or at least it will feel quicker!!

    Oh dear, what a nightmare.
Visualise going to the machine and tapping in your number.
    Work through what you did.
Did you fold the money up inside the withdrawal slip?
Have you checked that its not folded in behind the cashcard section of your purse/wallet when you put your card away?
What did you need the cash for. Try and remember what you needed it for and that might jog your memory.
What were you wearing when you fetched the cash?
Is it under a cover on your bed?
Inside a side pocket on your handbag/purse/briefcase?
Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, I usually put my money to be counted (for my savings jars - like a mortgage pig) on or near my laptop.
I put the money in my jacket pocket and went upstairs to go to get a hairdryer, and went into my livingroom ( I know cos the light was on when I camw back upstairs). That's the last time I remember seeing it.
    I feel so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you go to the loo when you were upstairs!

It might of dropped out of your jacket pockets and gone into the loo...then you flushed the loo.say no more:mad:

Check right at the back of any draw - I lost my parking permit for 2 weeks, and eventually found it - it had jammed at the back of a draw, so when i opened the draw it looked empty - its only when i looked at the back of the cabinet that I saw it sticking out - it cost me £101 so glad I found it !!
