    Have you found it yet?

Was it in your coat pocket? In the laundry basket?

Checked! I checked the bathroom, towels, in among ebay stuff, among magazines n receipts. My dad even checked the kitchen cupboards, the fridge and the freezer. And I raked all the bins in the house.
I know I didn't leave the house last night so it must still be somewhere, but it's driving me crazy!!!! Not to mention the fact that it's obviously a big amount to lose. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

daft question maybe, but you definately had it INSIDE the house at some point? You didnt drop it, or let it fall out of your pocket outside etc?

Definately, as I had given some to my dad, and he confirms that I had it (I thought that maybe I was going mad so had to check with him!!!)

You obviously put it "somewhere safe":D

Spend time going through the places you've already looked - slowly and deliberately. I often find things the second or third time I search the same place! Ensure you don't pick up the notes with something else and then replace the whole lot.

    Good luck!

Try retracing your steps... i.e. come in through the front door and try walking/doing everything you can remember in the same order... include giving money to your dad and then what you did next etc! Literally walk through your same steps, sit down anywhere you sat etc etc.

If it's any consolation... you are not alone... my dh lost his wallet yesterday... he knew it was indoors (could remember giving our son some bus money first thing and hadn't left the house himself since) but we also had a workman in the house and dh was worried that the workman might have taken it. Having searched high and low for over an hour he decided he would cancel all his credit/debit cards just in case! Three hours later when he went to test his blood sugars (he's diabetic) he found his wallet in with his testing kit!

  • I would like to help you with this problem but I can't find things in my house let alone yours. One bit of advice would be to forget about it, have a cuppa and then relax. Then you will remember what you did with it.

I lost some money once, A ten pound note. i found it in my bra! I remember I had my hands full and shoved it in there for safe keeping for later!

Have a sit down and dont panic and it will come back to you.

Did you have it in a wallet or purse or did you have it loose in your pocket when you came in?

As already suggested did you put it somewhere "safe" like in a book, vase, CD case, biscuit tin, breakfast cereal box?

Not nice to think about maybe, but was there anyone else in your house besides your dad last night?

A friend of mine lost her mobile phone for two weeks, unfortunately it was switched off so you couldn't just phone it and listen for the ring. She had JUST bought a new one when she found it in some ludicrous place under a case which was under the bed.
