Leaving blinds behind

Yes, we've always left blinds behind. And quite often some curtains, whether or not the buyer has asked. The most annoying thing of all would be for someone to remove all the tracks and poles, that would be mean beyond belief!!!0
-
if someone offered me the asking price on my house i'd take the money and run! I wouldn't even be thinking about the blinds.......I can only dream!0

The seller left some of the blinds in my property and removed others; the ones she left were the custom fitted ones. We were very grateful for this as it meant we didn't have to decide on new blinds/curtains straightaway. However, we wouldn't have paid for them as we didn't like them and would have told her to take them if she asked us for money. If the blinds don't fit your new house I would just leave them.
I think it is acceptable to take curtain, especially if they match the furniture or cost a lot of money. If I move I will most likely take my expensive living room curtains that match my sofa.0 -
just ask them if they want them!
Curtains are quite personal, so generally not left unless requested. Neutral fitted blinds are usually left given they're unlikely to fit elsewhere.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
If you take the blinds, you should fill the holes that are left behind and make them good (paint over the filler). Personally I think it would be more hassle than it's worth.0

Sell them to the purchaser or take them with you - £200 could be very handy at a time like this, when the incidental costs mount up. If you have standard-sized windows and the blinds are in reasonably good condition you may well be able to sell them on eBay (since a friend sold her kitchen on eBay I am convinced that anything is possible). Is it going to cost you anything to ask the purchaser?
When another friend bought his first home, he was in no rush to move in and on completion day the vendors asked him for more time, which he generously allowed. More fool him - in that time they had stripped everything detachable from the house, including all the lightbulbs, curtain rails and tracks.
Second hand blinds (no matter how good a condition you tell people they are in) are gonna fetch next to nothing on Ebay or similar - a quick search will show you that.
The hassle of taking them down and then posting and shipping really isnt worth it.
I do agree that some curtains that match furniture/window have a case for being taken tho.0 -
I'd ask if they want them.
My sister was offered curtains for a price, 20k !!
I guess people who can afford houses in Hampstead can afford fixtures and fitting like that. She bought the house from a Labour MP, I suspect she bought the curtains with those free expenses !!
Funny enough she said no thanks.0 -

I do think taking curtains is petty, if nobody did it there'd never be a problem when you first move in.
We moved once when I was a kid and they'd taken loads of shelves off the walls and left gaping holes. That was really naughty.
Our sofas are newish and my parents bought one of them for us, they'd kill me if I left it:D
We're taking the curtains as we only have two pairs and there are blinds at those windows too so the buyer wouldn't be without privacy. The curtains are newish too.0 -
Take them with you. And hire a steamer and take the wall paper too, tight wad.0
